Anyone else seeing this? When I "click here" to download it just brings to store page to buy though.

EDIT: As the first comment states, I'm just being too antsy. I see that it says free weekend on the Saint's Row page so it isn't an error and I'll just have to wait.

Probably just have to wait a bit, I'm pretty sure other free weekends in the past have had the same issue

I see it too. They probably just haven't activated it yet. Just wait a bit!

CoH 2 and SR IV both are on free weekends for this weekend

It's both actually. I kept scrolling and it says COH2 and SR4 free weekend; if it's not a steam mistake.

Free weekends have ended at that time on Sunday for as long as I can remember (the actual deals still run until Monday, though)

I have no idea if I'm gonna like the game, though I'll try to fuck the system and finish it during the free weekend.

+1 good luck, brother! I put about 40 hours into the first one (probably could have rushed through it in maybe 10 or 20 though)

People without the game can just do all missions on the free weekend to complete the game or just the main missions, because Saints Row games are boring after you do all missions imo.

Co-op

Comment has been collapsed.

Co-op in this game could be something good if it wasn't just for 2 persons....they could include online mode too, or just do a co-op at least with 4 ppl, anyways the amount of things you can do there is 90% killing aliens, and you even can't hide from them in the town, they appear even in the highest skyscraper, first aliens in this game are funny, but after sometime they're annoying.

You don't get cards from free weekend games, as far as I know.

Can you get card drops from games in Free Weekends? O.o

As far as I know, no. Achievements yes, cards no.

Thanks for clearing it up :)

Also a drop in base price. I grabbed it for 60% off during the Christmas sales, it was $50 for the base price then, now its $40 and 50% for the same sale price.

Shame the DLCs aren't cheaper, I'll keep waiting to grab what I'm lacking.

Can you actually play the DLC for the game during the free weekend? Like, can I buy the season pass and activate it using the free weekend copy of the game? I've already beaten it on Xbox 360 but wouldn't mind playing the two bonus missions, especially with the pass only five bucks.

Nope. I tried activating the Free "thank you pack" dlc and it said I didn't own the base game.

PSA: If you play the game during free weekend, you can't enter saints row IV giveaways on steamgifts for a while (2 weeks I guess) when your profile is synced to the site.

From what i've seen, this happens even if you don't install it, so d/l'ing and playing is not necessary.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No I've been able to enter other free weekend games that I didn't install. I think when you play the game and it shows on your profile, steamgifts thinks you own it.

It can depend on when you sync. Auto sync can screw over people in that way.

Comment has been collapsed.

It does, but once you play it you'll start getting hours/achievements in the game, so it appears in your library for a while (2 weeks or 2 months) whist if you don't play it, it'll be gone after the free weekend or in the following days.

Interesting that Company of Heroes 2 includes all the dlc for the free weekend.
Saint's Row 4 doesn't even include the 1 FREE dlc for the free weekend. xD
