Respectively:
* Pretty sure Mandragora/Mandrake has no actual basis in (Hu/Wo/_)man etymology (despite the vaguely humanlike appearance of the roots), but simply coincidentally shares some similar letters. Given that the word originates from Greek, and human in Greek is anthropos and man is andras, it's especially unlikely to be related. There are however two species of mandrake that once were labeled as being a male species and a female species, so I guess.. yes? They're both nevertheless still Mandrakes, though- apparently the Mandrake community has rooted concepts of equality firmly within itself. π [Further Reading >>]

* I suppose we can claim hermaphroditic or XXY chromosomal mutations among ducks as allowing for woman drakes, yes.
