I don't believe that, as the outrage from customers wouldn't be worth it.

Before they had the Uplay client , I bought Rainbow 6 Vegas 1 + 2 , and only had a limited time to download it ( 30 days , I think ).

I had to backup the installation files as I can't download it any more .

Is this what you're thinking of ?

If it is showing in the Uplay client , it should be there forever - download as many times as you want :)

Actually, yes, there's still things to worry about. The shop.ubi.com is NOT linked to Uplay. But, you will get a confirmation email with a download link. I just checked one dated november 7th 2012, the download is still active. But well, I backed up the full games anyway, because I have a feeling the shop.ubi.com will not be there forever now that they have Uplay and the Uplay store.

Their system is a bit of a mess , but Uplay enabled games purchased in the UbiShop should appear in the Uplay client and be available to download at any time .

Example-
I have Rainbow 6 Vegas 1+2 , I only had limited time to download them ( as I said above ),

I also have Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon from the AMD Never Settle bundle .
It was purchased (redeemed with voucher code ) from the UbiShop , but because it's a Uplay enabled game it appeared in my game library in the client and can be downloaded as many times as required .
