Sorry to hijack, but another one to look out for in future, for anyone who liked Super Mario Kart would be Blur.
It's $20 now, but I picked it up between sales when it went down to $5.
It has online multiplayer, real cars & real locations, but the controls are pretty arcadey and it has cool power ups (there's a blue-shell-alike :).
In a nutshell, grown up mario kart. :)
