What happened to the "official" SteamGifts subreddit ?

I was browsing reddit and I cam across the subreddit but it's "Closed".

So how about we revive the SG community in reddit by making another subreddit.

I hate reddit, never use it, but looking through that subreddit, I see 99% "Request" threads being opened up - i.e. beggars, and a few doofuses attempting trades.

Yeah, great idea, let's try and get that re-opened.

I'm not thinking of having it the same exact way , that'll get it shutdown once again.

Plus the [REQUEST] option isn't well made , even in r/GiftofGames/ whenever a sale comes up it overflows with beggars.

Whatever it was, it was not related to this site.

There's no need for SteamGifts to have a message board on a third-party site. You can use these forums for all your needs.

If you want to hold a message board somewhere else, you're free to do so. However, SteamGifts won't moderate it in any way, and SteamGifts can't be held responsible for anything that happens over there. We will not use a third-party site as our official message board.
