I dont think joining giveaways is greedy ,but i guess you should rather join giveaways your pc can handle .
I have a GTX 970 Ti and my pc can handle every game actually with my setup in 1080p .
If you would downgrade your Monitor to a smaller one with 720p you should be able to nearly play every game i think .
I wont give in to scalpers either .^-^

if you have speed enough and some of them is compatible you can try play via play.geforcenow.com (or xbox cloud),

also anyway also if 750 it's not able to play games very recent has cyberpunk2077,metro exodus or halo infinite it's unplayable with a 750ti (require dx12 etc or do 10fps etc.)
you can btw play more old but beautiful games without problem and very beautiful as a PREY,shadow of mordor,astroneer,witcher3,sea of thieves etc. the 750ti it's enough if you low the Shadows,Bloom\Blur and some unuseful gfx effect and play 1080p instead of 4k etc.
i recently play ninokuni wrath of the witch and octopath traveler in 750ti these games not require more power but have nice storytelling can play happy

the situation about gpu prices right not it's totally absurd i agree with you,not only this but recently in some countries the Used market has become more fraud than new prices,it's very patetic situation i hope it finish soon so these people stop to scam prices,i see some people get gpu from rubbish place (broken) and then resell it at $999€ instead of sell it at normal price 400€ or half price,this is very insane and i very stress bored about this,hope crysis chip finish soon.
BTW cloud services is very good,geforcenow and xbox cloud gaming can play very well and not need buy new gpu or console or pc,i was able to play half of halo infinite via cloud without any problem

For example you will be able to play Death Stranding via geforcenow also if you own a 750ti,then ok sometimes have delay or artifact,it's not "perfect" same play with local hw\gpu,but it's not that much bad too...better than nothing

Not greedy, more like having a hoarding issue. Then again, I suspect that many of us here are basically the same. Anyway, I hope this year is kinder to you than the previous one.

Also I'm in a similarish situation - buying HB, entering (very few, and selected) giveaways, while having more and more games I can't play. Hopefully it will change soon :)

I think it's due to the thing you crave (ie the gpu upgrade) feeling so out of touch. I was the same for a long time, kept buying lots of cheap bundles because they were such a small amount of money but the games I wanted to play were becoming unplayable. Bought an entirely new rig this year and now I buy half as many games as I did before because the PC spend is still in the back of my mind! I haven't bought a single thing during the steam sale and although I might cave in and buy Teardown I've still got a big enough backlog I should play first that the urge isn't really there. My HB choice annual also just expired and not sure I'll bother redeeming it. Might just keep pausing til a good month comes along or they start handing me discount coupons.

i cant say anything because i got same issues alot of games in libaray is rotting xdd.

I am also trying to find an answer, i am a games hoarder myself, i subscribed to Humble Choice and bought tons of Fanatical bundles as well, plus bought a lot of games from any seasonal sales on Steam, but the games i've played probably around 10% out of all in my library, most of them ended up on idling because i wanted the cards lol..
It's just a "hobby" or obession i think at this point? Because everytime i saw games on sale and they have good reviews, i can't let myself not to think about them all night until i purchased them, despite some of them are probably not my cup of tea..
I wonder is it some kind of disorder or something..

The first step is to celebrate this year.
Let's worry about it afterwards.

And I really feel you on your loss. I know they're not directly comparable, but we had to put the dog I had spent 19 years with to sleep in April of last year and live has just not been the same since.
