It seems like november will be a big month for steam. Too bad I live in such a shitty country, importing stuff from US is a pain in the ass.

i am not sure this will be as big as they hope for the price of that i could just buy a smaller case and take my pc to the tv.I do not really think i need another streaming device.and what if you play games in higher resolution, not just 1080p and higher FPS.?

The plus is you can used wired so as long as your router is newer it should have enough speed to get the most out of it.I much rather use a 360 controller or other controller then the steam version though but that is a no go,I would only use a keyboard and mouse with this setup but in say like the living room that would be a bit awkward.

I rather see more games support big picture mode then this but that is just imo.

here is a link to a review of it it is pretty much steams in 1080p with a max of 60fps and uses steam controller and i would assume keyboard and mouse.

Putting your PC in a smaller case? Woah, that's already starting to sound a bad idea what your doing.

Your going to have bad ventilation, and won't it be a pain in the butt putting everything in a smaller case? Plus, your spending way more that $50 doing that. Plus, unless you own a laptop, no one carries their PC to their TV just to do a bit of controller gaming. So in conclusion what your telling me is this:

  1. Buy a smaller case for PC in order to get worse cooling and have some great thermal throtling! And at the same time spend more that $50!

  2. Drag your PC in it's new smaller case! And take 30 mins plugging in everything!

  3. Put in Xbox 360 controller!

I do have to agree that it is quite dumb that it's limited to only 60 FPS and 1080p, but it's a $50 device. What do you expect? In the end I pretty much disagree with everything you said.

EDIT: But in the end if I had a good PC (stuck with a crappy laptop) and had a faster connection, then I would buy the Steam link, why? Well simply because it's easy. Which is the exact opposite of what your aiming for.

I was not trying to imply that is what everyone should do i was saying what i would rather want to do.As far as the price goes i could have worded it a bit different as what i meant was for the 50 i spent on that i could use toward a different case and sell the one i have.

i did not mean put it in a smaller case then when done transfer back into the case i meant instead of buying a 50 streaming device i would just put my pc into a smaller case and take it into the living room and when done take it back.
And i must disagree with some of what you said.

You can make a smaller form factor pc and still get good air flow and keep temps down there is more to it then just a case room temp plays a role along with hardware. You do not know the setup i already have so you just assumed all that.

Even if i used my current case it still would not take me 30 minutes to setup at the tv if that was what you where getting at it would take me a couple minutes to plug the power cord in and controller.

None the less the hardware will do what it says but i just do not see a lot of people buying it just based on steaming games as i would be playing them on it now in the living room if i wanted to do that..
