There is an elite echelon of Steamgifts users who actually look at the games they're entering and consider whether said games are ones they might be interested in (and, indeed, whether they own the game already), rather than simply hammering the green buttons until their points run out.

Maybe this advanced technique could work for you too?

There's actually a rule that says don't enter giveaways if you already own the gift.

Wow, dude! You really are unlucky! o_O I expected to see the usual "joined 200 GAs and still not win anything"-whine, but hell.. entering 2,611 giveaways with estimated wins of 6.2 and then winning just a soundtrack-DLC o_O That would suck even if you didn´t already own it. Guess it is high time for you to join one of those giveaway-groups for unlucky people to increase your chances.

Also some Advice:

1. Dont regift, sell or even keep that Soundtrack, because thats against the rules and will get you banned (just in case you didn´t know). You have to contact the giveaway-creator and tell him he has to reroll and pick another winner.

2. There are problems with identifying some of the games in the steam-libary (especially with DLCs), so they wont get filtered out if you already own them. I dont have any insight, but my guess is, that the problem is more on steam´s side then on SGs and the SG-Mods would make a workaround for every single game and as soon as steam changes something in their database, a lot of the games (and maybe new ones) would have the same problem again.. thats why I think the problem will not change, as it would be too much work.. but you can use this Addon to make things easier.. it lets you filter out certain games, so whenever you see a game or DLC you already own, klick on "add to filter" and you´ll never see it again and wont enter it by accident in the future ;)

I really hope you told the maker of the giveaway you won that you already had the game, and that he should get a re-roll, instead of accepting it and trading it off / regifting it..

i'd like to point out two things:

a)if you dont remember what you bought in the last week that is a little sad

b) accounts on SG sync once every week automatically, therefore you wouldn't be able to enter in a giveaway for things bought prior to that week...

WHY do YOU enter giveaways for games that you already own?

The problem is in Steam, not SG, some games and DLCs dont show in your game list in Steam so there isnt any way to be added to your game list in SG
