Since I'm starting to get popup ads on steamgifts that force my browser to change tabs, I'm enabling AdBlocker again. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Nope. Are you sure SG is the problem?

What else can it be? The ad appears on the SG tab...

I don't know what it is, but I've never seen pop-up, pop-under or anything like it here... and I don't even have ad blocker of any kind.

You could have some adware script that shows targeted ads on websites that correspond to certain keywords.

I heard it in the forums, sometimes others experience this too.

I have ABP but it's deactivated on SG and I never had any popups. I would suggest to check your addons for something you don't know and maybe even run MBAM.

if you see it, provide the link of the ad and cg (SGifts admin) will block it (atleast that is what he used to do)

I don't have any adblock extensions or add-ons and I've never had any popups on SG.

I do get pop-ups (actually it's a dialog box in Chrome) on SG from time to time after entering a giveaway. Whatever I do, accept, decline or simply close it, it always replaces the SG tab with some ad website.

I'm a SG plus user, maybe that's got something to do with it? Or some users found a way to inject javascript into their giveaway comments?

It's not frequent enough to be much of an issue, maybe 1-2 times a week in the last 3-4 weeks.

Are there Pop-Ups on other websites too? Sounds like malware...

This, try running a scan with Malwarebytes or Spybot S&D.

I've never seen that. What has happened to me is the greenmangaming ad changes for another ad with sound, and it's really annoying.

I don't get ads on SG, and I don't even have an adblocker. I'd run a malware scan or somethin if I were you.

Take a screenshot of the advertisements on the page triggering the popup, along with screenshots of the popup itself. Also, use an add-on like Firebug or anything along those lines to copy the related code. Submit a ticket to support with the info, and I'll see if this is an issue with SG, and if so, track down the related ad network, and have it removed.

So i'm assuming this means SG isn't supposed to have ad- popups?

No, I dislike popups as much as the next person, you should never expect to see them here.

I have yet to even see an actual ad on this site..

You probably have Adblock on for SG. I disable Adblock for SG to support SG, and the ads never bother me; they are just tiny ads.

This has never happened to me. I use adblock, but I keep it disabled for SG to support them; and never has this happened.

I don't use any pop-up blocking software and never experienced any pop-ups on SG. That's strange. Check to see if any extensions or apps have been installed to your browser by a third party, as that is most likely what is happening.

Hm. I have adblock disabled for this site and never saw one. Good to know what to do if I do encounter it though.

Be sure to set adblock for steamgifts.com/*; dont set it for a specific page.

Or do it the other way around. Block only certain sites that really annoys you. The rule is:

@@*$document,domain=~site1.com|~site2etc.com

I do have it set like so. I meant I never saw a pop up ad.

I'm using Chrome without any kind of adblock. I have never had a single popup ad on steamgifts.

I am pretty sure that SG never has any popup ads. I suspect your computer is compromised and thus requires a purge.

Not one ever. And I do allow ads for steamgifts.

I don't see any pop-up ads, and I've got SG whitelisted on AdBlocker.

Going to guess it's malware or similar on your end.

I don't use and AdBlocker and never, ever, saw a pop-up ad on SG. The problem is probably something that's been installed on your end.
