Trying to play Fallout 3. The launcher works fine and as soon as I click play, a black window pops up, saying Fallout 3 has stopped responding.
I've tried different solutions I've found, but nothing is working.

Anyone know a way?

there's a patch for fallout 3 for win7 and up. also, make sure you deselect HDR in the laucher settings (bloom or none should be fine).

here's the link where I downloaded the patch.

but you don't need to trust me. google for a patch for fallout 3 and you'll find something alike.
Also, if you check the reviews for the game in its steam page you find a few reviews that offers another options for fixing it

If you own the ultimate editions of both Fallout 3 and New Vegas you could try a Tale of Two Wastelands, which merges the two games, so that FO3 is running in the NV engine, and is a lot more stable that way.

e: their site seems to be down, probably getting slammed atm. Try in a few hours or tomorrow or something.
