ANSI X4.22-1983 is a standard for the Dvorak keyboard layout. The Keyboard Cat is another hint, this puzzle is all about keyboards, not alphabet.
So, let's look at this keyboard. A(3 steps to the right), C(3 steps to the left) and Y(3 steps to the right) leads to U, Y, C.
Now, ternary 111 is decimal 13. Just put two digits to the first and fifth position, and you'll get 1UYC3.
Oh, and the game was something dirty: DiRT 3.

nice! I got the UYC bit from the ansı code. I messed up with the tenary 111 though... according to wiki it corresponded to 5, so I put 5 on both ends... anyway, good show!

I see. You've found BALANCED ternary system. "It is a ternary system, but unlike the standard (unbalanced) ternary system, the digits have the values −1, 0, and 1".
