1 hour is the current shortest time limit on a giveaway, would anybody support shorter time limits for flash giveaways?

[EDIT}

read some posts so...

i would like this to be available for short public giveaways not private stuff where it could be exploited, maybe restrict it to public only?

[EDIT 2}

ok read some more posts

i think the shortest time limit should be maybe 5 or 10 minutes, no point in being able to make a giveaway that only lasts for like 10 seconds.

This would be interesting to try out but we could run into the problem of people telling friends there going to put it on then put a realy short time limit just long enough for all there friends to enter and barely anyone else.

This is what groups are for?

Do group giveaways allow you to gain gift revieceved points so they can enter into those raffles that require you to have given x amount of games/money.

Yes, you still gain CV from private and group giveaways.

I may get banned for posting pretty much the same thing twice, but it's totally worth it.

They can already just do it as a private giveaway and only give the link to their friends.

There will always be people refreshing the page at the exact time of a giveaway being made, so even if the giveaway is only 10 seconds long, there will be others to enter than friends.

Why wouldn't they just make it a private giveaway then?

Create an hour long private giveaway, but only drop the link minutes before the GA ends.

There's been a person that does 3 minute and 4 minute giveaways in a forum thread.

I've done this multiple times, and others have, too. It accomplishes the same thing while giving you time to make sure you have everything set right. (Screwing up your giveaway and then having to delete it after people have entered is not a good thing.)

you can simply stay in the page where you choose the giveaway time and create it shorter
select time and make it 1 hour long but dont press 'create giveaway'
45 minutes later, create the giveaway and it will be 15 minutes long :P

Forgive me for being dense, but how on earth could this be exploited? I'm not sure if you understand exactly how CV functions-- it is rewarded equally throughout public, group, and private GAs

"I'm not sure if you understand exactly how CV functions"

not really, and im not anal enough to give a fuck either tbh. if it cant be exploited then ignore what i said instead of trying to score epoints by being a pedantic prick.

I feel if there are shorter time limits on public giveaways, that will just invite more and more bots to constantly query the site looking for giveaways. I think an 1 hour minimum is a good thing.

It would be nice to create GAs that start when the first person has entered.

Na, I think the minimum should stay at one hour, it's pretty good that way.

I think a minimum time of 5 or 10 minutes would be great, anything lower would be a no from me though...

How about increasing the maximum time limit to one year?

And day before the giveaway ends the game gets bundled. XD

It wouldn't matter, the giveaway was created before the game got bundled.

So wait, if I create a giveaway for any of the Groupee bundles games now, I will receive full CV? :|

Create giveaway for game you are almost 100% sure will be bundled in the next year. Like FTL or Defender's Quest or anything sold in the Humble Store.

well feeling obligated to check SG once every hour is addictive enough, lowering that time to 5 min would be pain in the ass, no thanks.. if you want to make a giveaway for 5 min soo bad, just pake it private and post the link 5 min before ending.

This is exactly how I feel about this.

That's a good point. There is a demand for this, but I think it's low enough that the current workaround of making a private giveaway and just not giving out the link until there's a few minutes left works well enough.

Choose your own time; troll giveaways as a result.

There's no need for shorter time limits, so there is no reason that it would be changed.

That would be really fun and interesting. If friends wanted to give to each other they could just form a private giveaway or a group.
