Does this bundle make you sad?

View Results
[Tier 1] Back in the day this might have been in MUCH better tier 1 lineups, but I wasn't yet born then. Sad.
[Tier 2] Guess I'm not willing to spend another 5 bucks for just two and a half more games. Sad.
[Tier 3] I must have all the games. It's a compulsion. My doctor says it's incurable. Sad.
[Have] My Samurai were very much Definitive long ago. Nothing for me here. Sad.
[Expensive] Considering these weren't much more in 2015, isn't this pricing a tad audacious? I'd grab it for a quarter of the price. Sad.
[Not totalitarian] I don't like warfare. No cute games in this whatsoever. Sad.

Skipping because I already have everything I want there... However, the price tag seems to be a good enough for the whole package.

In Korea, I only see Vikings, Shoguns, Medieval Collections, and Shogun2. Regional restrictions are great.

Thanks! I think that what I see with a Korea VPN is a bit different from what you see:

I see that the following games are NOT available for you:
T2: Total War: NAPOLEON - Definitive Edition
T2: Total War: EMPIRE - Definitive Edition
T3: Total War: MEDIEVAL II - Definitive Edition
T3: Total War: SHOGUN 2

Could you check again if this is correct and compare it to your initial post?
For example, you mentioned that you see SHOGUN 2 and Total War: MEDIEVAL II - Definitive Edition, while I don't.
The naming I use is the store naming, while Humble Bundle just likes to invent names - so the names in the chart are a bit different from what the bundle page shows.

Also, the actual content of the bundle could be different from what it's advertised, as in you might get more keys that you think (it sometimes happens).
Did you buy the bundle?

Just to add to this, I'm in Japan and also have reduced options. I'm not planning on buying so no gift link notifications/sub numbers, but here's what I see on the bundle page:

Tier 1
Viking: Battle For Asgard

Tier 2
Medieval: Total War Collection
Shogun: Total War Collection
Viking: Battle For Asgard

Tier 3
Total War: Shogun 2 - Rise of the Samurai
Medieval: Total War Collection
Shogun: Total War Collection
Viking: Battle For Asgard

Just a heads up: most of the older titles are practically unplayable on modern systems. STW and MTW are a CTD-fest on loop. (MTW2 also crashes every 20 minutes or so apparently)

For anyone reading this, I wish to suggest 2 solutions to this problem.

  1. Virtual machines - you have 2 options here depending on your OS, on Windows you should use VMware due to it being the only one with tolerable graphics. On Linux you can use QEMU for near native speeds and GPU Passthrough if you're feeling fancy (can be done on Windows but only on the Server version with Hyper-V);
  2. Getting an older machine - self explanatory, older Dell Optiplexes can be grabbed from eBay from as low as 30 euro depending on specs.
I'd pair both of these options with Windows 7, as from my experience it works decently with older games like these, don't expect playing DOS games though.

Would have been great if it had all DLC for Shogun 2 and included TW: Rome 2 at the very least if not also the new remastered first Rome.

Not a single option in the poll that isn't "sad". Yeah, it's pretty nostalgic in here.

Indeed, they could've at least added Rome 2 and DLCs. Perhaps even Attila.

I'm sad.

(Just kidding. I watched a >20 hours TV show, 🐭, and took another 10 hours to feel that I understand everything to a satisfactory degree. With my eyes thus bleeding, the reaction to this bundle was a bit like nōlī turbāre circulōs meōs!. And I do feel that these should be dirt cheap by now, even if they of course hold hundreds of hours of gameplay for interested parties. I wasn't the biggest fan of chases with AI units in the few TW games I've played, and back then the grand strategy element had maybe 5% of the complexity of rivaling Paradox titles.)

Site rebundle game X times and then cry do not trade or sell your games :D most likely we have to activate same game 6x

Not bad. Can't wait for next week when they make a bundle with TW games that aren't over 10 years old.
Not that it would make a big difference, as I own these too with 2-3 exceptions. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Lol, even Shogun 2 is 11 years old. I knew I should expect the earlier games from "classics" but damn, that's been a long time ago.

For EU (HR) there are non in gift link notifications for any of them. T1, T2, T3

For once I'm glad the second tier is a fixed price, rather than a fake beat the average that hovers just a few cents below the third (when not surpassing it altogether).
The 3 games I'm missing (Medieval 1, Napoleon, and Empire) are all in T2, and I can get them for ~25% cheaper than historical low this way.

Speaking of the bundle contents... well, I get that they said "classics", and they seem to have chosen a relatively fair cut-off point of ~2011 for their definition.
I get not including the old version of Rome, as the remaster (which includes it) just came out one year and half ago.
I get not including Rome 2 and Attila, as they're still perfectly working DLC milking machines relatively recent at 9 years and 7 years and half old, respectively.

But couldn't they include some more of Shogun 2's DLCs? Or at least the standalone expansion Fall of the Samurai that, being released exactly 10 years and half ago, would still count as classic?

I don't have any of these, except Shogun 2 which was free at one point. I am interested in them but I think I will save my money this time and maybe buy one of the more recent ones when they are on sale.

In my experience, the bundle is overpriced for 2022; maybe cheaper than buy on steam all of them.
(and for a fan who owns most of them, $7 to pick one or two olds games (shogun 1 in my case) is a steal)
