The dude is #1 when it comes to Sci-Fi movies -- look at how successful the Star Trek & X-MEN franchises were during his heady days.
I once saw a movie in which an African American thought it was cool to grafitti "STAR TRAK" (misspelling probably not intentional) all over the sides of a small bridge -- can't recall movie name though. He was so psyched to see Star Trek for the first time, cool FX.
In the '70s, the similarly-named Star Wars also wowed moviegoers with its FX, nowadays in Rian Johnson's current Star Wars movies, you see outdated visual tech with bombs dropping onto a planet in zero gravity hahahahaha
