Install for Firefox

  • First step, you will need to download Greasemonkey from here
  • After you installed Greasemonkey and restarted Firefox, download the script from here.
  • You will be promopted for the installation, after you click install you are done!
  • Now you are ready to use it

    Install for Opera

  • Go to 'Preferences' (CTRL+F12) > Advanced > Content > Javascript Options
  • Choose your 'User Javascript folder', somewhere nice
  • Right click here > 'Save Content Link As'
  • Put it in your special nice javascript folder you just made and you are done. :)

Install for Chrome

Press WinKey+R

Type:

chrome --enable-easy-off-store-extension-install https://github.com/downloads/rossengeorgiev/sg-enhancement-addon/sg_enhancement_init.user.js

Press enter, confirm installation at the bottom

Install for Safari

Install for IE

Create a bookmark with:

This is kind of confusing. Can you give a description of what clicking the Filter button does? If I untick it, it shows nothing.

The filter can be set so that games / DLCs you own so don't need to see them because entering for one you own is against the rules, ones you aren't interested in (for me Batman Gotham City packs is a good example because I don't intend to play it so don't need to win any them) etc. don't appear in the list of giveaways.

You 'populate' the blacklist / hidden list by clicking ignore below the title of the giveaway. Clicking the filter button will turn the filter 'on' i.e. you don't see anything in your hidden list, with it 'off' you should see everything.

if you choose @ishlist and don't choose either all or filtered, you end up with only wishlisted stuff. and if your wishlist is empty, you end up with empty list:)
You should check filtered.

There is a small problem with checking the Limit by points option and giveaways of several copies. For example it filters out the current developer/greenlight giveaways although I have 300 points and the giveaways are worth 5 and 10 points respectively.
Does the addon multiply the number of games given away with the base point cost? This would explain it but I guess it should be changed to only take the base value for its calculations in that case.

I'm using the addon with Opera 12 if that should matter.

I think I remember Zo saying something about a 1024 character limit for the all the ignores. Don't quote me on this.

You should just click "[Giveaway Filter Settings]" on the left and then check the "Ignore games in my sync library". This should do all the work for you. Considering you already added the games you have, you might want to manually remove them from the list there.

Not to hijack this, but I have a mini Greasmonkey script (Firefox only sry) which hides all contributor only givaways. (Which I beleive is missing from this script?)

It already does it. And can even hide only giveaways for which you don't have enough value, while still showing the ones that you have the required value.

I am not sure making it easier to join a give away without reading the giveaways description would be a good thing. Also some people would be against making it easier to enter a giveaway without commenting

The list appears to be under filter options settings on the left, a feature would could have been made a little more clear.

This area also includes the filter by sync list. which should most likely be a seperate checkbox.

I was able to install it in two ways

1) by saving to a location on my harddrive and then in chrome going to tools -> extentions and drag and dropping the file from the saved location into the extensions window.

2) by installing the chrome version of Greasemonkey or an alternative

Def appreciate your most recent update (i think) when you enter a giveaway, it actually "blurs" (for lack of better term) out the giveaway immediately, instead of needed to refresh the website to see if you entered it or not yet.

I have no clue if this is working or not, or if I have to do something extra to get it going. Never used Greasemonkey before and installing the .js does nothing. Is it supposed to automatically apply the features that are listed in the OP?

Edit: DERP, didn't think NoScript would fuck with this... Allowed googlecode.com.

"Click on "[Giveaway Filter Settings]" and you will see a list of all the ignored games you have. Just manually delete it."

Someone answered the same question a few months back on page 10.
