Before you guys go "WHY DIDN'T YOU GET IT FOR PC, PC IS THE ONLY VERSION!" yada yada yada. I got it for 12 dollars NEW for PS3. When I boot up the game and go to the first area, there's no new enemy placement. I have all the DLC but still. Is the enemy placement only different in NG+?

Also when I google it nothing shows up. Try googling it yourselves, it doesn't show anything helpful.

Did you really buy "Scholars of the First Sin" edition or just the season pass for the vanilla DS2?

Those two are different things

It is Scholars of the First Sin. It is on the package and in-game text.

Then I'm not really sure. How far have you gotten? The enemy placement is noticeable right away. When you get to the forest, there is a huge rock mob in the river and that's only within the first 10 minutes or so.

Nope it was all the same. No giant near that area.

My only experience is with Scholar of the First Sin as I recently got it in the steam sale. However it's my understanding that new enemy placement is just occasional different enemies and different placement, but largely it's the same.

Nope, on practically every map they changed enemy placement and more things, there is also a new invader. It's not occasional in any way.

Hmm... If you really say this, then I can't believe you've played the game more than 5 minutes. The difference is huge. It's like playing through another game in a similar setting.

I compared tons of zones to original Dark Souls 2, in what zone are you now?

we can also compare the zone where magic resistant Lions are for example, in original Dark Souls 2 there is a giant basilisk and Lions around there, in Scholar version Giant Basilisk is not even on that map and Lions are behind the barrels, and around the map there is that transparent spirits.

Or a different zone, to see how you have it.

The first area. I've played this area multiple times in the original. It's the same.

It's just the normal giants in that area as well... It seems to be the same.

Scholar of The First Sin enemy placements are only for next gen consoles/DirextX11 PC. Sorry to say but you may have just dropped money for nothing, unless you dont have the season pass.

I never had the Season Pass or played any of the DLC... So I guess it's a good Game of the Year edition.

There doesn't seem to be new enemy placement for the ps3 version

For different versions see: http://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/file/view/SotFS_details.jpg

Aww man. On the back of the box it advertises the new placement... False advertisement I guess :(

what about that current Dark Souls 2 users can use their save data, what DirectX 9 has to do with using Dark Souls 2 saves from original to SotFS? that's just an error about that, because you can't use your saves from original in SotFS, and DirectX9 and 11 have nothing to do.

Edit: ah I understand now, by Dark Souls 2 SotFS DirectX9 they mean the original Dark Souls 2 with the latest update, and not a totally new game.
