A lot of people have been creating giveaways for the new Humble Double Fine Bundle for 30 points, but only with the first 3 games. Should i report them ?

Yes.

Is that true ? I once won a humble bundle giveaway without all the games (well, the "$1 pay") and just marked it as received. I think it was even said in the description.

Yes, but they are making giveaways for the "Double Fine Bundle", which is a bundle on Steam and includes all 4 games, not the "Humble Double Fine Bundle"(which isn't an option when creating giveaways yet). So if the one you won was a non-BTA one then there is no problem with that.

This version of the Double Fine Bundle does not have to include Brutal Legend. There is a reason this is 30p and not 45p and clicking the picture doesnt take you to a valid Steam store entry. This steamgifts entry is for the old version of the bundle that did not include Brutal Legend.

there are 2 bundles listed... so not sure if the 30 ppoints is for non BTA and the other is with BTA.

Neither.

The Humble Double Fine Bundle isn't on SG yet. They are choosing this and giving away the Humble Bundle.

They are misrepresenting their giveaways, so it's probably not ok.

Seems like they need to make the humble bundle versions, but it looks like they changed the steam all-4-in-one key version to be added to the bundle list. Not sure that's the best way to go about it, but I suppose it works. Very confusing for those entering the giveaways, though.

They probably will add one, but since people are still gonna go with misinterpreting it they put the Steam bundles in the list too. Sort of like with Serious Sam 3 and it's deluxe edition.

They are not giving away the 4-game version. Go here, and click the picture. Note that it doesnt lead to the correct bundle page, because the subid is different. The one and only bundle listed on sg right now is the old 3-game version of the Double Fine Bundle, not the new one with Brutal Legend.

Yeah. Double Fine Bundle without Brutal Legend is not a Double Fine Bundle. I think they should give away the three games separately making three differents giveaways instead of telling they're giving away that Bundle.

The ones from Humble Bundle come in a single key.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Right, so actually if you want to gift this, you should give that single Humble Bundle key AND a copy of Brutal Legend?

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Pretty much, yeah. Or they could just give the one from Steam as originally intended by the option they're choosing. ^_^
The whole giving the stuff from a Steam bundle as a single giveaway but with split up keys is king of a blind spot but last I checked it's fine... assuming they include everything.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That would still be wrong. Because they are different bundles, the HIB and regular one. As said previously the HIB is not on steamgifts yet.

1 decade ago
Permalink

The original Double Fine bundle does not exist on Steam anymore and thus we have to follow the current Double Fine bundle which is on Steam. This one includes Brutal Legend.

1 decade ago
Permalink

It is also $45 when the one being listed is only $30, so I'm pretty sure you're wrong about that.

i feel like that bundle isnt even the humble bundle... That is a separate bundle available on steam, not the humble doublefine bundle so im not even sure thats ok in the first place. Definitely not ok if it doesnt include brutal legends

Arent there only three games in the bundle if you pay below the average?

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Doesn't matter if they pay below or not, if they buy the HIB and give it away as this, it's a fake giveaway. It's very easy to check if its real or a HIB, because the real one is ONE gift on Steam, whereas the HIB is two (non-BTA and BTA).

At the very least they should be forced to give Brutal Legend as well. But atm they are fetching a 97% discount on the HIB by giving it away as this.

All the Double Fine Bundles are on the bundle list anyways. In addition, you are allowed to give away multiple keys to make up a bundle.

correct, and the steam pack contains four games

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

On misrepresenting a giveaway:

  • If they are not giving out everything that should be included for the giveaway then report the giveaway
  • If they are giving out more than what is listed and include everything that should be included then don't report it

So in this case, yes, you should report it since they are missing one of the four games in the pack.

If this is not the correct bundle, then how come it says it exists in my account when I bought the version without Brutal Legend?

1 decade ago
Permalink

This is not misrepresentation. The 30p version of the bundle was the previous one that did not include Brutal Legend. As long as you indicate in the giveaway that only the first three games will be given, it should be fine.

This. 4 game bundle is 45$

1 decade ago

Exactly. The only one you can list on sg right now is the old version, the new one including Brutal Legend cannot be selected from the giveaway list yet.

Basically, TL;DR:

Yes.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It is 13701 id bundle, not the 19260 id one.

It is why it is 30p, not 45p, and it should not include Brutal Legend.

So I think giveawayers are okay giving it like this.

1 decade ago

No they are not. It should be "Humble Double Fine Bundle (Below Average)" or so. Either that or the Double Fine Bundle should be bundle-ized considering its paying out more than Crazy Machines did. (Edit: It was added to the bundle list now)

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It was added to the bundle list when the bundle first started. This implies that support knew people would list it under Double Fine Bundle and are okay with it.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Correct answer. SG Double Fine Bundle is an "old" bundle without Brutal Legend.

1 decade ago
Permalink

People paying $5 for 150 CV, which is 50 (and 50%) more CV than $5 worth of Crazy Machines gave.

Edit: Nevermind, it was added to the bundle list. All is well in paradise.

You need to rant less about this and read more. Those giveaways are not fake or incorrectly marked.

Did people give away Humble THQ Bundles as THQ Bundles? No. Why? Because they were Humble THQ bundles. It's pretty simple logic for most people.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Humble THQ Bundle only had a handful of games, nowhere near what past Steam THQ Bundles had.

Humble DF Bundle has the same games as one of the past Steam DF Bundle. Therefore it's accurate.

(plus it's on the bundle list)

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The accuracy is wrong because nowhere does it indicate whether its Non-BTA or BTA.

Yes. It is on the bundle list, NOW. Like I wrote in my previous comment. And that pretty much solves the problem of this, because they won't have to waste time deleting old giveaways. And it eliminates this issue, yes.

Nowhere does it indicate whether a Magicka Collection includes all the current dlc.

Nowhere does it indicate whether a DFB Steam gift (not the HIB key) contains three games, or four (or whether it includes Iron Brigade or Brutal Legend).

One can only hope or ask the GA maker to include the specifics what is being given away.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The Magicka Collection is different though, since, on the publishers side they made a new collection every time they added a new DLC. The same could be said to some extend about the DFB, except that there are two differently priced bundle listings for it, one with and one without Brutal Legend.

1 decade ago
Permalink

If you're talking about Double Fine Bundle and Double Fine Pack, I'm pretty sure the three games in question were sold under the name Double Fine Bundle (too). Just like there was a DFB for those three games + Iron Brigade and then finally another one for those three + Brutal Legend.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Let's just say I'm not bothered by it now that it's been bundled, and there are 2 differently priced packs to signify it, it's a haphazard way of indicating which has which, but its better than nothing - as long as people indicate which games are in the bundle they are giving anyway.

My main concern was the CV being gained. And it was not added to the bundle list when I wrote my original comments (except for the one above us). I hadn't noticed it had been added with the site being down and being asleep for the majority of these discussions, that was my bad.

Maybe you're just being a bad attempt at a troll, otherwise, have you ever heard of the saying "If you have nothing constructive to say.."? Because either you're whining about a general concern for the CV system, or you're trolling. Only you know.
