I stand to be corrected, but it's my experience that Americans don't often put butter on sandwiches/open sandwiches no matter what is in or on it, and seeing as they're the largest single demographic on SG it might impact your results to a degree.
Me, I've never tried Nutella. Was never huge on peanut butter, and growing up my family bough one jar maybe every 2 years. It was alright, but nothing special and I can't remember if I had butter with that. Never bought a jar for myself as an adult. Nutella always seemed like the next progression from peanut butter even though it's made with a different kind of nut, and as I wasn't big on that I've never bothered trying it.
I've always instead liked honey, jam or marmalade as my equivalent thing, always with butter. Well actually mostly with 'i can't believe it's not butter' or similar as it's about half the calories.

No butter here.
I generally don't use butter unless I need to make some sprinkles-type topping stick.

Not at all as I tend to have overweight. To be honest, I had 99 lbs oder 45 kg too much in the past xD
Maybe I should take proceedings against Ferrero and others for making me fat. These monsters!!!

I've eaten nutella all my life and i've never seen anybody eat it with butter (and where i live both nutella and butter are super common items) so i'm not sure where your GF got her idea that it's the way to eat it (or maybe it is in your country? not sure)
(also nutella is greasy enough on its own not to add butter)
Anyway my choice is on fresh bread, or in crepes. Use to eat it by the spoon when i was younger but not anymore.

With a spoon. Then I cry myself to sleep....And then I stop crying because I remember I have more Nutella. This goes on and on until the jar is empty. Then I cry until I get to the store to buy a new one.

You sound like me. But I have vowed to never buy Nutella again. It's 55% sugar content. And an additional 15% highly processed fat. 70% processed sugar and fat. It's not good fat either. Oh no, my friend, oh no.

I eat it without butter but my girlfriend think that is funny because "everybody" eat nutella with butter... So, how do you eat nutella or other stuff like that?
