I couldn't bear the stressful home environment anymore so I decided to take a walk. It was a rather cold summer night, but as the brisk air filled my lungs I felt the stress leaving my body. There weren't many people on the streets. Few here and there, a drunkard pissing on a wall. I had walked quite far from home and decided to take a shortcut back through a park. It was poorly lit, but I continued anyway. I viewed paranoid in the darkness around me from time to time, but I couldn't make out any figures. All I had was the white slate road guiding me. Suddenly I heard steps behind me. I turned around and there was a dark figure on the road. It stopped as I turned. My heart started pounding. I picked up the pace and viewed back every so often. The figure was still there, coming closer and closer. My heart eased as I noticed street lights. It was the exit to the park. As I approached it I heard the steps right behind me and just as I was about to step on the street ahead - He passed me and said "Hello". It was my neighbor having a late night jog. I instantly felt relieved and stupid at the same time. I got back home safely. My mother and sister weren't arguing anymore, they had gone to sleep, not noticing my disappearance. I went back to my room and turned the PC on. Figured I'd install something new to play and then it happened. As I reached for my copy of Dead Space it beat me to a bloody pulp. I was sexually abused by it 10 times that night. I will never be the same person again.

How can you know that a game is terrible if you didn't tried that game? And how can you hate a game? It's an inhuman object. It's something completely fictional.
You can't hate a chair, you can't hate a blanket, you can't hate some cd/dvd, you can't hate the content of that cd/dvd (unless it's pics with your ex or whatever)
You can hate a dog because that dog bit you.
You can hate a girl/boy because she/he broke your heart.
You can't hate a game because it's not something you enjoy.
Here's another example.
5 people work day and night to make a bag of potato chips. You can't hate the bag of potato chips if you don't like the flavor.
5 people work day and night to create a game. Can you hate that game?

Why would anyone hate on games they didn't try? It doesn't make sense.

What? It's perfectly fine to hate non-living things. I hate certain genres of music, television shows, styles of clothing, ect. It's perfectly normal.

If you can't hate something, then you also can't like it either meaning it'll forever be stuck in a neutral zone. We can hate and dislike something, which is criticism exist.

I'm not sure that you can hate certain genres of music.
Here's an example, i only listen to rock (and it's various sub-genres) I don't hate other genres of music. I just don't like them.
If you would hate rock music, wouldn't this mean that you can't be friendly with a rocker? If you really hate his favorite music, you will start to find flaws with that person, you will dislike him, you won't get too friendly with him.
If i would just dislike rock, i would have no problem with a rocker. I don't like his music and that's all.
What i try to say is that Hate is a word too big, and it shouldn't be used in this case.
Overrated games you dislike would be more appropriate

You and OP seem to be confusing the word dislike with hate. Hate is a much stronger emotion, filling one with possibly rage or memories of pain and suffering. Dislike means you just don't like it and maybe even actively avoid being near it.

Holy shit you have no idea what you're talking about, do you

I can hate all I want :) ie. chair - the chair I had back in a day at school was so small that made my spine hurts - I hated it because if the chair was different I won't be going long years for rehabilitation.
Some example like yours: 1000 people was making car H*^^^^^ is too small, have shitty plastics all over again and have no space on backseat - I hated sitting in it, driving in it, etc. I don't hate people who made it - that would be pure stupid ;)

What if the game has pics of your ex in it can you hate it then?

Well yeah, the hate is on the more recent games. They are becoming unoriginal and keep recycling stuff and the community doesn't help. I loved CoD 5 but it's gone downhill IMO.

Call of Duty, Diablo 3, League Of Legends, Counter Strike, Thirty Flights of Loving, most AAA games (I could row up lots of them I haven't played that never got into me, I mean why would I buy a AAA game for 50 bucks when I can get 50 bundles, or 10 indie games that are better?) I could mention Skyrim being overrated, I like Skyrim, but it's not like it's my favorite game, I still think Oblivion is a much better game, and I already completed SKyrim on console when it was new, just bought it on PC for the mods/dlcs/completionist.
SO many...

Call of Duty, Diablo III.
EDIT: Why do you guys hate Dota? If you cant stand Russians, just make team and win the god damn game without 'cyka cyka loch pidr' etc. like I do.

I'm not sure if you can write comments that long, let's leave Neverwinter Nights here.

Hate might be too strong of a word, but anyway.

My reason is that I've spent hundreds of hours playing the bloody thing, trying to get out of it an experience it cannot provide. And then I see people everywhere saying it's a great game, while I see nothing but mediocre gameplay in a lovely package.
