Hey guys,

so I was looking at some gaming keyboards and would love to know with which keyboards you were most satisfied.

I am using a Gigabyte Force K3 right now, which is pretty basic and look forward to buy a new keyboard very soon.

I researched online and found the models above to be the best design-wise. Which would you choose?

Also, please do not recommend Razer, as I was very unsatisfied with multiple products before.

Thanks!

Which gaming keyboard should I buy?

View Results
Logitech G710
Steelseries Apex RAW
Logitech G105
Corsair Strafe
Cherry KC 1000 SC

I just use the keyboard from my laptop, works fine enough..

But I know logitech always worked good, at least in the past when I used to build my own rigs..

My Logitech actually died recently. It has been used for 8 years. EIGHT.

So yeah, I agree that they deliver quality products.

I can't say for the others but if you want a durable product: go Logitech. Maybe others can help you better!

Anyway good luck!

With the exception of headsets.
The mice and keyboards are pretty good.

For us to help you better...
what switch do you want? tactile? tactile clicky? linear?
Do you also need a Full Keyboard or are you open to Tenkeyless options?
Do you require LED or open for non-led options?
Are you also planning on changing the keycaps? so we can recommend standard layout keyboards.

What switch? I do not care.
Full keyboard is required.
LED would be great as I often play in the dark.
No, I do not on changing the keycaps.

Thanks you.

Switches affect your overall experience on typing.
some are tactile and clicky like mx blues, mx greens
and some are linear and soft like mx reds, mx clears.

on switches it is recommended to get either Cherry or Gaterons for durability.

for your requirements I would recommend checking the following:
Ducky One
Ducky Shine 5
Corsair Strafe
Corsair K70
Rantopad MT

I personally use CM Quickfire TK and is planning of getting either Pok3r or Leopold FC660M as my 2nd board.

I think gaming mouse > gaming keyboard, keyboard keys are usually so close eachother and in a weird places not very accesible for the normal hands position

I was on gamescom 2015 and pretty much the most widely used keyboard was the Logitech 710+

When I got back from Germany I bought one myself because the design and feel is great. Imo it's a good buy.

I picked Cherry 1000, because of the upgrade potential

I choose the corsair strafe with cherry mx blue cus eargasm but if you're interesed in fps games pick red because of the travel distance and the action force

I have the G710+ and can recommend it. There are some stories however about the keycaps not being strong enough and breaking/coming loose. Hasn't happened to me in almost two years of use, but maybe you should keep that in mind. Also, the layout isn't a standard one, so you basically can't replace some keycaps. All in all, I find it to be a great keyboard, and it has served me well so far. If you have any questions I could help you with, just let me know.

i've contacted logitech support a half year ago because my G15 had problems with the LED's. just asked if they can send me some of the LED lights so i can fix this on myself. (the keyboard is more than 10 years old) but they wanted me to send the keyboard to them. after that i got a totally new G15 keyboard for free... awesome logitech support. maybe you should buy a used one via ebay for 20 bucks, and ask logitech if they can fix the lights ^^ :D

(Edit: just forgot, i would suggest any logitech keyboard because of the quality and awesome support)

I use a Corsair K70 with Cherry Red switches.
This thing is solid. You could probably type a paper, then defend your home with it.
After using this, my old Logitech G15 feels like a child's toy

For what it's worth I can also vouch for Corsair products. I've lost count on how many Logitech mouse/keyboard combos I've killed, mostly mouses though, but I'm still on my first Corsair mouse.

Yeah, they most likely both make solid products and I've just been unlucky with my logitech mice. I suspect it was some kind manufacturing error with one specific model as most of them have been the same model with a scroll wheel acting up after a couple of months

Logitech used to be solid, but their quality has really taken a nosedive the past 5 years or so. ;_;

I've got a G15 Gen1... and its dying :( I love this thing cause of all the extra keys which I actually use. I wish I had bought an extra 1 or 2 when I had the chance.

I have found that Cherry MX Brown switches are very close to the sound and feel of the G15 series though so I'm on the hunt for something new :D

I'm using a Razer Chroma BlackWidow with the clicky green switches, it's fantastic, the best keyboard I've ever owned.

Personally I'm using a Mad Catz S.T.R.I.K.E. 5 (along with a R.A.T.7 mouse) and have had no issues at all with it (them ;) ) with one exception; I have to plug in a second keyboard if I want to get into my CMOS for any reason (probably something in my CMOS USB settings I need to change, but cba to find out).

I have a friend that knows a LOT about computers. and he FIRMLY reccomends you spend the money and get the Corsair. Stay away from the Logitech keyboards as they have a short life span these days.

I tested many different mechanical keyboards and I ended up getting Razer's BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth.
No complaints after using this one over 6 months now.

I'm using a G710+ for just over a year now and am very happy with it but I actually wanted the ducky shine but I was impatient and went for the one that was available and I need cherry brown!

Still, can't go wrong with the G710 (although g610 looks nice as well) but I recommend ducky all the way.

I've got a maxKeyboard nighthawk x7 and love it. fairly inexpensive for a mech and has nice led backlighting. Nothing too fancy but still great quality.

I recently acquired a Corsair Strafe mech keyboard to replace my dying Gigabyte K7. Cost me around 100 euro. So far it works great. It takes some time to get used to the keys since they're very easy to press and you don't even have to press them all the way down to register the stroke.
It's pretty basic (no additional macro keys or anything) but does the job flawlessly.

I have found that Cherry MX Brown switches are very close to the sound and feel of the Logitech G15 series so if you know what they are like and like them, thats something to look into.

Logitech G710 with the cherry mx brown switches is what I am looking at right now but pretty sure I would be happy with any cherry mx brown switches.

Pretty unhappy with my G510s. Coating on the S and D key have worn off and the button to cycle the LCD needs to be pushed really hard. I also have no need for 18 macros keys. Next Keyboard will most likely be corsair.

Thanks to all of your for your input! I will order a Logitech G710 and a Corsair Strafe and will return the one I'm less satisfied with.
