Is Crysis respected? Is it a big title which would sell just because it's called "Crysis"?

Crysis is overrated

The only thing I associate Crysis with is being a ridiculous system crusher, because when I was shopping for parts for my last system build every review would include a Crysis benchmark with something along the lines of "yeah, the frame rate's crap, but it's slightly less crappy than with (insert other component)." No idea on its merits as a game.

Crysis was amazing, Warhead even more. When you compare it to other FPS (like CoD, MoH), for me, it is the winner.
Crysis 2 is sh*t. Nothing else then consolish/CoDish mix.

I liked Crysis and Warhead. Tested Crysis 2 and it sucks compared to the original, the story of the original was almost completely scrapped and the game is overall more consolized.

It's basically just a demo for the Crytech engine.

As a whole the game is playable and enjoyable but you shouldn't expect something great. Power balance is bad, too few energy to properly synergize powers and AI is quite dumb at times. Story is okay but nothing innovative.

You can have some fun with the game but I won't replay it again before very very long if ever. Gameplay is about 6 hours top and 3 hours for Warhead.

Crysis: Warhead is awesome. The rest ... not so much.

Crysis is known more for its engine rather than its gameplay, which is a good thing, as the game wasn't exactly a jewel in the FPS genre. I didn't really enjoy the game, i saw it as a rail shooter, with a bit of exploration.

Plot and gameplay wise, Crysis had a similar issue Far Cry had back in the day, where everything started with a very nice setting, a semi-realistic setting and a fun shooting mechanic. Later on the setting changes completely, and the plot takes some VERY strange twists (much more prononunced in Far Cry).

So yeah, Crysis is overrated.

The only thing i remember about crysis is that the aliens where just the same as the sentient machines in Matrix, shame.

The AI sucks. Everyone hates bad AI. Shoot one of the soldier, and the others just walk by not even alerted. I don't even finished playing it after I bought it at full price, 7 months after the release (should be around 20$ that time). The multiplayer is fun but buggy.

The cons of most FPS is short single player campaign. Don't know if Crysis 2 is short too.

Far Cry was awesome, Crysis is just a remake with better graphics and super suit. The story is a typical B sci-fi plot with dumb enemies and an atrocious ending. Warhead was even dumber imo. Haven't played Crysis 2 yet, but I hear bad things about it (console port is what my bro called it).

At least Far Cry was original, Crysis just updates the engine from time to time and doesn't even bother with a story or fixing any of the problemsthey had since Far Cry

ppl only like crysis because of graphics, basically most that love it are graphic whores or have lower standards for what they call a good game.I say it's mediocre ,not bad and not great,like in the middle for me game-play wise.

Bought it a while back when it was on sale, never could really get into it.
