As many people know, GOG stands for Good Old Games. A rival digital distribution platform to Steam.

We can ascertain that they possess a larger number of older games, especially '90s hits, compared to Steam.

In your opinion, what are the best GOG titles (that aren't on Steam)? I collect retro games and want to know if I'm missing out on anything special.

(On Steam, I already have classics such as Deus Ex, FF7, Postal, System Shock 2, Urban Chaos, etc....)

Police Quest

Lessure Suit Larry 1-7, (I know, you can buy reloaded on Steam, and part 4 doesn't exist)

Carmageddon

Little Big Adventure

Dungeon Keeper

Syndicate

Superfrog (I know, there is a HD remake - but it isn't as good as original)

From this list I miss only Larry's 1-6, and Carmageddon (which I own on Android)

Here is an offer: I have this Excel file with pretty much all PC games ever released on GOG or Steam (or reviewed by Gamespot, Gamespy, Eurogamer or PC Gamer UK) -- the current count is 8438 games (well, and old or reviewed expansion packs). "Pretty much" because I added them one by one manually as they were released (call me crazy, it is sort of a OCD hobby), so there might be some omissions or mistakes here and there.

But here are the killers:

  • One of the columns of the Excel file is "Where can this game be bought?".
  • Another column has a sort-of-normalized-average of the review scores in those few sites, so you have a broad idea of how good those games are. My personal Metacritic, so to speak.

So you can sort by "Score", and filter by "contains GOG" and "does not contain Steam" and see the (almost) COMPLETE LIST of all games on GOG but not on Steam, listed by some sort of "goodness" score.

(I just checked: 1048 games on GOG; 3517 games on Steam; 475 games on GOG but NOT on Steam. Sounds like a good Venn-diagram problem)

Do you want it? It is 3Mb...

Cheers!

I'd say Neverwinter Nights 2, I was able to get it on Steam while it was available.
