Question about Steam Pre-orders

I am thinking about pre-ordering Payday 2 from Steam and i will recieve it as a gift from a friend and i want to know if i can immediately add it to my library or it will remain as a gift in my inventory untill the release day?

Also do you think it's any chance of a price drop untill August?

You can immediately add it to your library but not playable til release date. and there could be a chance of price drop because of summer sale.
