Hi guys,
thanks to the fanatical fantastic bundle (or was it the other way around?) we have now a new flood of funny hidden object games.
Every game takes around 3-6h with all achievements so its a wonderful snack between "big" games.

As promissed no level restriction but a little rule check: SG Tool gate.

The rule is just minimum ratio using Real Value of gifts Sent/Won on Steamgifts: 0.9 (meaning you have a balanced ratio or better).

I hope you enjoy it :)

What is your opinion on HOGs?

View Results
I love to play them and have a alot in my library
I like them and I play them when I get them together in bundles for other games
They are kinda bland. Don't like or hate them. [Meh] Tell me in the comments what you think about it
I don't like them. There is no fun in picture searching.
This genre is utterly trash and I hate it because I have to project my anger onto something.

Thank you! Here's your bump!

Thanks for the train.

About my comment on HOGs, I like them but not all, they need to be very good or I don't enjoy the experience. My gf likes them so I ended with quite some in my library, but I prefer more classic point'n click graphic adventures.

Yeah, some have really bad quality (even some artifex mundi ones) and with clunky dialogs or even bugs or completly random unlogical riddles the enjoyment will drop fast.
I also love point and click adventure but for those I need to be relaxed beforehand otherwise a missing item (pixel hunting) would drive my mood even further down :D

Most are really cheese or plain bad in animation/dialogs. But there are also some exception to this rule. But with 3h of gameplay time you cant hope for a decent character development or fleshed out backstory. Its just a glue that holds the riddles and HO scenes together.

I think I would recommend the Grim Legends series. Not only is the story good, the puzzels are also not totally random. However if you go with "good art" don't have your hope too high.

Mah answer: Meh

I've played a few and I can't say that I'm really a fan of HOGs. Story-wise, it's never engaging, mostly tacky and/or cliché to the extreme... it's just not really my cup of tea coffee. They're very "meh" games for me. BUT... I played Theatre of the Absurd a few months ago and to my surprise, I kinda liked it. I guess it had to do with the horror theme, I'm a fan of horror in general so there's that. And then, I got my hands on True Fear: Forsaken Souls Part 1... this one, I did enjoy. I actually would like to know what happens next, so I'm hoping Part 2 will eventually get bundled.

I wish you good luck with the bundles. I can feel the pain of longing for a game to arrive in a bundle for a long time.

I literally own all of these. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But I'm a sad nerd who plays lots of HOGs and have for years. I played all of the original Mystery Case Files games back in the day.

Thanks for the train, and keep HOGing!
