So I'm in the hunt for a game to play. I have a lot and a few installed but I'm having a hard time with some. And I'm always in the mood for a metroidvania/platformer.
So, library aside, I'm asking what some of your favorites as recommendations.
Thanks.

I recently played Iconoclasts and it's amazing.

I just looked at your games list, and I'd recommend both 10 Second Ninja X and Ori and the Blind Forest.

Ori is damn-near perfection. 10 Second Ninja X is really underrated; everybody owns it, and hardly anyone plays it.

Lastly, you don't have it, but you should try CARRION: https://store.steampowered.com/app/953490/CARRION/

If you are a Humble Bundle subscriber, try playing some of their newest Metroidvanias on Choice: Ghost Song and Moonscars. I've played Ghost Song and it's pretty solid, guaranteed to entertain you for some 15-20 hours at least if you beat it only once, more if you decide to experiment with different builds and get 100%.

Generally, I also love Unsighted - it has a Metroidvania feel with non-linear progression and locked areas requiring power-ups, but it's a top-down perspective instead of a side-scroller and has some shooting elements as part of your base kit. It was part of Humble Trove, not sure if it's available there anymore

Agreed. Have it and beat twice. Now where's Salt and Sacrifice? Stupid Epic.

There are a lot of good ones that I haven't played like the Ori games, Hollow Knight, Shovel Knight. I am just going to list the ones that I have played and enjoyed with the ones I enjoyed the most at the top.

Dust: An Elysian Tail
Super Daryl Deluxe
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
Cave Story+
Supraland
Ato
Shantae series
Cally's Caves 3 - I enjoyed this, but if you read the negative reviews, you can see it isn't for everyone. It is very indie and has some issues. The 4th game and Trials were not as good as this one.
Super Panda Adventures
Hob
Lone Fungus - I found this really enjoyable when it started and it continued to be good throughout most of it, but there are some optional challenges late in the game that are much more difficult than anything else in the game and I wasn't able to do them to collect everything which kind of killed the enjoyment for me. You can complete the game without doing these though.
The Messenger - The first half was good and then the 2nd half felt a little tedious and dragged out, but I found it well made and enjoyable overall.
KUNAI - Not amazing, but not bad. If you have nothing better to play, but want to play a new metroidvania, I found it enjoyable.

Loved both Dust and Supraland . Different gameplay wise, with the one being 3D and the other being 2D

You definitely should give a chance to UnEpic. I saw that you have it in library but played just 30 min.

Let's go for a top-10-list-which-I-played, starting from the ones I loved the most:

  1. Hollow Knight (despite being a bit too hard for my taste)
  2. Supraland (though it is 3D)
  3. Wandersong (not exactly a metroidvania)
  4. Shadow Complex Remastered (if you want to check one of the classics)
  5. Ghost 1.0
  6. Guacamelee
  7. Dust (An Elysian Tale)
  8. Blasphemous
  9. Horace (this is kind of a hidden gem!)
  10. Guacamelee 2

Honorable Mention: Minoria.

+1 for Shadow Complex. It's the best metroidvania I've played.

The best Metroidvania I've ever played is Rabi-Ribi. This is a game that goes so in-depth with secret paths and techs that it has an achievement for beating it without picking any items (including the main character's primary weapons, lol). It even scales bosses to not use attacks which you don't have the necessary abilities to dodge. It is a rather challenging game though- so if you're having a hard time and searching for something straightforward then I'm not sure if it would work for you...

Momodora: Reverie Under The Moonlight - this one is nice, short and relatively simple so it might be easier to deal with.

(Also The Messenger and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night are super good too, but you've already played those so you know if you like them or not. ^_^' )

I've played some metroidvanias at times, and I loved Ori.
More recently, the one that's left the bigger impression on me was 8Doors: Arum's Afterlife Adventure.

Dead Cells seems to be missing so far.
Death's Door is great, it only has some minor Metroidvania elements though.

Two ideal candidates are Ori 1-2 and 8 Doors ❤️❤️❤️

In 8 Doors there is one difficult boss on which I am stuck.
Maybe one of the kind people can help me to beat him on my save?

No one has recommended Sundered: Eldritch Edition and that's a crime.
Yoku's Island Express
ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights
I think Hyper Light Drifter qualifies as a Metroidvania.
Astral Ascent it's not a Metroidvania per se, but it's a hidden gem.

I can never say no to a metroidvania/platformer. It's among my favorite genres.
The best i've played so far is Hollow knight. Aeterna Noctis and Grime are also solid choices and i had a lot of fun with them. Lastly i enjoyed Lone fungus although it's not even close in terms of difficulty to the above.
