I love American McGee, but I'm incredibly sick of zombies. Especially here, it just looks like "Hm... Oz... And then zombies! Brilliant!" Oh, and the incredibly derivative and played out Steampunk theme is real refreshing.
It looks like more thought went into The Importance of Being Earnest. I always imagined Oscar Wilde just realizing that 'Earnest' was an adjective and a man's name and banged it out in a night.

Feeling a little over-critical today?
Zombies, I hate them too. Never bought or played a game with them. But, these aren't classic zombies. They don't look like zombies, they look like evil straw creatures, which I think is a unique look. They also don't eat brains (or flesh), they just don't use them. So yes, the name isn't very good, but I think any reasonable person would look beyond that name and see that it's not really classic zombies.
As for steampunk, played out? Can you tell me what steampunk games exactly you're thinking of which really filled gaming to a point where a steampunk game isn't welcome? Post apocalyptic, sure, fantasy, sure, but steampunk?

Dorothy, the great great granddaughter of the original Dorothy, escapes to Oz and has to contend with the Scarecrow, the original brain eater, who has been turning the population into his mindless followers.
This project is the brain child of American McGee, so will naturally have great art and art direction. It's not doing so well, and it should, so check it out. For as little as $15 you can get a promising game.
Edit: The stretch goal is about getting the rights to the Alice film. See this update.
