do gog galaxy need original launcher?

quick question, do gog galaxy still need the original launcher of the other platform to be used?

No, for GOG games. Yes, for other games added through galaxy import.

It is currently not useful other than their own games and recently EGS games (they started to support it officially, I doubt steam will do the same)

Yes, but it will launch other platforms automatically. You will not even notice it in a lot of cases like Uplay / Origin games
Xbox and Epic are now fully integrated...can't wait for Steam.
It supports all popular launchers
