Try to get a 470…

At any rate, the RX if you plan on using it for more than two-three years. The GTX if you'll change it relatively soon.

CPU: depends, what do you define as "better"? It is more suitable for games and more complex calculations, worse for everyday work as it needs more power to reach the same single-thread performance.

i use only for play games. no need for video editing or similar.

if you can't afford RX470 then I'd look for RX 460 4GB (for more future cause memory becomes more needed then speed for low-med settings)
IF price is very-very similar then I would scrap those few € and get RX 470

Your i5 is almost as good as the new i3 (with the main difference that the i5 has 2 more cores).

What does the "mod" mean? Do you mean "mobile" aka notebook GPU?

OP asked whether his i5 3470 is worse than a new i3 6300, and my link compares those two CPUs with data provided by users uploading their benchmarks.

So either you're just unfriendly by not telling me what the problem is, or "u r so troll".

He's saying that the link you provided states the opposite of what you said. It shows the I5 as being better.

try to get the RX470, i seen 150$ RX480s.. but they dissapear quickly.

between those 2 i think the best might be the 1050 but just barely, get witchever is cheaper.

Here in Europe, RX480 would barely ever go under 200€.

a) between this two options i prefer 1050 (no Ti).
b) your i5 is a LOT better than i3-6100
c) Save some more money and go for a 1050Ti or better yet a rx470

Neither of those are very good for gaming.
What sort of a card do you have at the moment?
If you can at least game with your current card for a little bit more, seriously try to save for a better card.
At least get an RX 470, or RX 480, which is even better value for money.
With an RX 480 you'll be good for a few years.

what about 960 or 970. 960 is comparable to those two 970 is better and they shouldn't be more expensive if you can still get them

960 is like 210€

Save up for at least 470 or buy used last generation card instead - these are both terrible performance-wise - you will get much more performance from used 970. If you can wait - wait and buy 470, if you cannot wait (aka your old GPU fried already and you need anything) buy used card instead these two shites ;p

i Have a sapphire single fan Rx460 2GB for 96.95 Tax Incl. (Spain) and works fine for me at 1600x900 in middle/low resolution.

The 460 has improved since early reviews and is probably the pick now, especially if it's cheaper. If you can grab a 4gb variant it'll last longer, here there's barely a difference in 2gb/4gb price now but YMMV :)

Neither are great at Full HD though, your money might go further on ebay.

There is barely any price difference between RX460 2GB and 4GB, so if you are buying one get the 4GB one.

somehow get more cash and go for Ti
2GB more should work out better in the long run or how often do you switch your gpus?

I am in a similar situation and atm lean towards

Get a Geforce 1050Ti at the very least.
2GB of VRAM is really bad by todays standards.

I'd say wait till AMD releases their VEGA GPUs this year, current AMD cards might go down in price because of that. Atleast that's what I'm going to do when I switch back from Nvidia to AMD.

3gb of ram is the least you can get use nowadays. Less than that is better to stay away.

Neither. Save a little more and get an actual gaming card.
You'll have to wait longer to get it, but you'll be much happier when you do.

I second saving up slightly more for 1060 (3gb), especially if it's on sale, under $200.

If you absolutely need a graphics card right now, buy a used R9 290 or a GTX 970, both are far superior to the ones you linked and will be mostly fine for 1080p. You should be able to get either one within your budget.

If you can wait a few months (?) and want a new card, save up for something better. The current midrange is likely to fall in price once AMD's Vega hits and Nvidia releases their answer.

I'd echo what others are saying. First up, CPU upgrades are not critical these days. If you have an i5 from the 2000 series up, it's only going to be worth upgrading to an i5 or better from the newer series and even then the performance difference will be a lot less noticeable if you're mostly using your rig for gaming. Most games nowadays are more intensive on the GPU and less on the CPU. Exceptions to this are the massive strategy type games with hundreds of units performing individually on the screen at any one time. So rather save money from the CPU and get the best graphics card you can afford. Besides there are new CPUs in the pipeline from AMD which might be worth considering when they release as intel has been a bit stuck in the last few updates.
AMD and Nvidia are equal in many senses at the same price points. Some games work better on AMD, some on Nvidia. The RX series is more future proof as it includes support for the newer APIs, some of which provide significant graphical improvements. Also aim for as much VRAM as you can get unless you're planning on upgrading again soon as games are only going to get more demanding from here on. If your budget is tight, an RX 460 4 gig would run most games pretty well, but you'd need to turn down the settings on some of the newer games.
Another point to consider if you haven't already is to get an SSD and add some more ram. If you're into big open world games you will notice a slow down when the game is streaming in new areas if you are using a non-ssd hard drive or have low ram. In which case even having a beast of a gpu will still mean you drop frames. So that's something else to consider that not many people do.
