You want to create a giveaway? Well then, give your money to SteamGifts, they buy the game for you, create the giveaway for you, and the money you paid gets added to your contributor value. This is the only way I can think of that will make CV 100% accurate as they handle your money and have access to your receipts. I know it's crazy and won't happen because there will be fraud, cancelled transactions, additional costs and a big headache for SteamGifts staff. Anyways, I like this site how it is now and I'm sure they will come up with clever things in the future.

Edit: Or just mail your receipts to SteamGifts. Still, there will probably be fake receipts that give big headaches to SG staff.

We should all email cg receipts of the games we buy to give away, so that he can work out the correct contributor value.

How do I set up a poll for this?

cg is infallible. There is no risk.

Yeah, I was thinking about the receipts, but there will probably be forgery. Also a big headache for SG staff :(

I hadn't considered either of these issues, but I don't see them as roadblocks.

If enough people vote for it, we can make it happen! Who's with me?

Just ask CG. I'm sure it'll be fine setting up that poll for you.

I think that that should be the entire system. If you want to create a giveaway, mail all your money to cg, who will keep it. Instead of CV, high contributors get the warm fuzzy glow of making cg happy. This will solve all the problems people have with the site.

So.. do away with CV all together. All you had to say.

Or are you thinking of a playblink system where you pay a membership fee/donation to get special rewards?

He is thinking of donating money to cg, because cg is a cool guy. Then you can be happy, because cg is happy.

No, no, no. As I've said, I want to keep CV, but do away with giveaways. Giveaways are the source of everything that's wrong with CV.

When I first glanced at this idea I thought it was suggesting people put money into Steam Gifts and then the site automatically (or maybe staff does it manually on second thought) pools the money to create really good giveaways like Skyrim and stuff. I realize that's not what this is about at all, but I actually think this could be a cool idea. Like if you have a bit of cash you want to spend on making a giveaway, but you don't have a game in mind to purchase, you can just pay into like a PayPal account and then when enough money is saved up for a great giveaway, a staff member buys whatever cool game and creates a public giveaway. Does this sound cool to anyone else or just me?

Bad idea is bad! SG as it is, offers a platform for us to gift and receive games. Why would they complicate their lives by having millions of dollars (Received Gifts Valued at $4,728,413.02) moving through their website?
