Yeah, it's a very popular combo in the US. Even franchises have their own surf and turf platters.
You can get it with shrimp and other seafood, too, but I'm a lobster kinda fellow. ;)

Make the portion twice as big, the steak half as cooked, and switch the mash for chips or baked potato and that is one delectable looking meal right there! Surf and turf is probably my favourite meal. Although that doesn't look like peppercorn sauce, which is... an unfortunate choice :D
