Question about Secret of Monkey Island

Hello everyone.

I'm thinking about buying this game, now that it's on a great sale.
I have just one question - Is the Special Edition like a remake of the series or something? Do i need the "Complete Pack" one or the "Special Edition" should do it? I mean... to understand the whole story and all.

They are two different things. Special Edition is by Lucas Art and is the classic version. Complete Pack is another take by telltale - dev who did walking dead etc

Wow, didn't know Telltale also had Monkey Island.
I actually like the telltale games, but i think i will stick with the special edition for now...

3.The Curse of Monkey Island
4.Escape from Monkey Island
5.Tales of Monkey Island

I desperately want Monkey Island 3 to be on Steam. I mean, I own it on disc and have it running in ScummVM, but I still want to play it again on Steam with full Steam integration, achievements, etc. That'd be awesome.

This! And Special Edition is remake of first game in series: The Secret of Monkey Island. Complete Edition is complete edition of 5th game: Tales of Monkey Island. The Curse of Monkey Island and Escape from Monkey Island are not on Steam. First 4 games - Lukas Games, 5th game - Telltale.

Special Edition is the same game, but with the option to have modern graphics and things like that. You can ignore it all completely and have the game as it was originally designed.

Complete Pack is a new game, not a remake. They're separate.
