I think alot of people are misunderstanding my explanation.
I don't like fake smiles and 'apologies' either and I did not want anyone to apologize to me but when I give someone else my money, I expect that someone to treat me with some basic courtesy.
Same way the letter I wrote to them was polite and not "Yo fuckheads gimme back my money!"
However, I explained I find this funny, due to the 'lazy' quick response. Their response wasn't rude just..well..funny

I'm a whiny american and I'd be happy with that answer. straight forward, concise, to the point, no bullshit, no fake copy/paste form apology ect. A question was asked, a question was answered. conversation concluded
Especially since the op said he had translation issues, adding a whole bunch of extra words is just inviting confusion, the support guy may have used a translator himself for allw e know

Good one, few years back I ordered some albums from a music store in my country and wrote extra e-mail explaining how I want it to be delivered and that I can pay extra for that to be sure the contents won't be scratched or damaged in any form. It's funny indeed, in the lines of "for Mother Russia!", haha. But it only shows their English is bad. Here's the reply they gave to a Russian customer regarding a refund (in translation):
Unfortunately we cannot perform a refund because you were provided with a working key and we already reported it back to the publisher.
Apologize for the inconvenience.

You may want to note that they may not speak English that well and the response they gave you was the simplest way for them to convey the message. But yes, it is very Russian in its directness. :)

Yes, I did something very stupid - I bought a Dead Space 3 key off a russian site.
The key I got was for a Russian only version of the game.
Yes it was dumb, but usually the games I get this way are not restricted, and google translate did not translate properly
I emailed their support with the following:
Hello,
I did not know this version of Dead Space 3 is Russian only.
I can't understand Russian, and I have not redeemed the key, would it be possible to get a refund?
