Why would microsoft do this to us? They are bringing new titles to steamworks, releasing them on steam, promising this terrible PoS dead, other companies are patching it out... etc. And they just bring it back?

On one hand, I'm really happy all my old titles will continue to work. On the other, fuck 'em for lying about something so great as GFWL being dead.

I predict extra info on it during e3. Hopefully saying steam support and steam release of all old GFWL titles. :)

pfff kill it already, i was so happy when they announced they are stopping it and now this. I hate when i buy something from steam and the n have to install more crap just to make it work. GFWL, Uplay - why won't you die???

Continuing support != Bringing back.

It was replaced with Xbox Games in Windows 8+ (unrelated to the console).

As a 360, One and PC gamer. I'm glad it's not dying. I love GFWL. I own most of them and touch wood have never had any issues with them. The only issue I ever had was running out of activations on Street Fighter IV. I contacted MS live chat and within 5 minutes have been offered a new key or a full refund. A full refund for what was then a 2 year old game is awesome customer service and Steam could learn a lot from MS.

I don't think there will be any new games except ones directly made by MS. I could imagine Halo, the older Gears of Wars and maybe a new Crackdown coming to the PC and GFWL.

Other than the billions of updates I didn't mind GFWL. I liked having achievements on PC too, but now I don't care.

"continuing to support" from a second party, so what does that even mean

Microsoft probably decided it was easier to just keep the servers going for a handful of titles than to patch DreamWorks into them.

I hope it doesn't mean that From won't do a Steamworks patch after all...
