Question bump... Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is a "defense portfolio" in this context? Google only turns up stuff about investing, not studies. Also, what were you studying?

Oh it's more of a oral defense of my portfolio. Defense portfolio is just how the course is named...
The portfolio is a culminating activity for the master's program. I had to revise everything I've gone through and assemble 2 case studies from the projects I did over the program. During the Q&A session the lecturers then quiz me on my case studies - e.g. why I did things a certain way, why did I choose this tool/framework and not another, what is considered as evidence-based practice etc etc.
This is what I did:
Master of Science degree in Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning.
The OPWL program is intended to prepare students for careers in the areas of instructional design, training and development, e-learning, workplace performance improvement, organizational development, program evaluation, and performance.
It's an awesome program if this is a field you're interested in :)

Yep! though it depends on the university I believe. I've done thesis before and didn't need to defend it.

Ahh, I see. I was mostly just curious what exactly you were talking about. It's honestly a field of study that I didn't think existed, I just thought that those roles were filled by people who got there in other ways. This is all pretty interesting, thank you for the reply. And congratulations!

I passed my defense portfolio! After 5 years of online studies (with breaks in between), I'm finally done! It was a nerve wreaking 60 mins this morning - 15 mins presentation and 45 mins Q&A. And I passed!!! YAY!!!
Now there's more time to game, read, watch drama, watch anime, read manga...
So to celebrate and share my joy, here's a train. =) A mix of bundled and non-bundled games.
