Heh, depends on how much games you currently have. I don't normally get stuff on sales anymore, since I already own them. For normal people 7.15 wouldn't even last 2 minutes ;)

I have spent less than $10 in the last major sale. Am I not normal? :/

Probably gonna buy 1 copy of CS:GO for my alt account if it goes 50% off or more and invest the rest of the money for some skin (if the price drops).

Got all games I really want except Rust, but that is probably not going on sale.

why not CS Complete??? or Valve Complete maybe?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

A bit too expensive, and I really only need CS:GO for the extra drops.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Why do you have alt account and why are you spending money buying games for two accounts instead of one?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Only CS:GO for the extra drops buddy.

Permalink

Is the game really worth buying just for the drops? I've been thinking about getting it myself but people told me the only way to really make decent amount from CS:GO is to gamble with boxes and that drops are worthless.

It all depends on what you consider "decent" profit. You can easily make profit off CSGO if you get into the CSGO market. There are certain times of the year, month and even day when prices of various items fluctuate and you can make some profit by buying items and then selling them a couple of hours/days later (we are talking about small profit here which gradually piles up). Get into CSGO trading aswell, that's basically the fastest way to make profit other than betting which carries the most risk.

Personally I have invested less than 10 EUR real money in total in my games library (including my copy of CS:GO), everything else came from CSGO drops/trading/betting and giveaways.

It's not, because you need to be playing in order to receive drops. If you're lucky you get a new-ish weapon crate (equal to TF2/Dota crates) which can often be sold for 1-3 EUR. Most of the time you'll receive rather useless weapon skins though which will get you like 0,05 EUR. So no, buying a game solely for item drops which rely on playtime is not advised.

Sometimes I wonder why people (not you) just don't get a job. That way they could make more money and actually increase their real reputation...

Thank you for the useful reply.

"Sometimes I wonder why people (not you) just don't get a job"

Apart from being lazy there are a couple or reasons why people "just don't get a job" (damn you make it sound so easy):

  1. They're too young to get a job
  2. They're living in a shithole country where getting a job is nearly impossible without good contacts or without having years of work-experience for the jobs they're interested in (my situation)
  3. They have social anxiety issues

Well most of my wishlist is stuff that my PC can't handle or that I couldn't play right now...so even with a -75% would be hard to sell me something. But as every year, I'll buy at least one game for sure.

Blechh, none atm. Those heels i recently bought really put a dent into my recreational finances. And sadly, I found another pair that i want pretty bad. Still has almost 2 weeks though to gather a couple hundred bucks or so only to buy stuffs that will just go onto my backlog of games.

I've got $37 saved up, plus a bunch of inventory crap I can cash out if needed. Not planning on buying too much though, hopefully won't go down to less than $30. I'll also have to see if I spot any good games to giveaway.

There is no such thing as saving money anymore; we just buy games we don't play and spend money on digital trading cards.

I've cut down on the games I buy in hopes of completing my current ones. Witcher 3 and GTA V were my most recent purchases for myself and I beat both so it's back to the steam library again.

Permalink

I have no idea, I bought the GOG version of Witcher 3 for $20 and the GTA V rockstar social code from Nuuvem for $30, The steam keys for both are pretty darn expensive and likely won't go on a deep sale at least this year.
