Counter Strike 1.6 "-6" Error/Bug/Problem

For the past year I've had this problem.

It didn't bother me much at the start but now.. I can't see the MOTD, or use any other commands which make that pop-up since it only shows that -6..

I happens on every single server, even LAN. My friend has no problems similar to mine.

This is also pretty annoying since I played the Non-Steam version before and it worked PERFECTLY. So why should I pay for something that doesn't work when I can get the same thing for free?

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Bit. 6 Gigs of Ram. nVidia 9600GT. Tried compatibility mode and all it did was.. nothing.

Try to verify game cache or just delete cstrike folder and download game again (backup cfgs, ss, demos...).

edit:
And write in console cl_allowdownload 0. It looks you downloaded something from some server.

I've re-downloaded and verified it many times over the past year.

The command also didn't help, but thanks for the reply. :)
