No thanks... Looking for something more legit looking. XD

You shouldn't really feel bad about using a no-cd patch or crack for a product that you legally own. Otherwise you're best off purchasing again digitally

I'd be ready to go for a no CD patch, only, I really don't know where to find this kind of thing.

I meant that since I've never downloaded that kind of thing, I don't know where to download it safely (virus free, you know).

Thanks, but... I don't really know what you mean, I've never heard of this... If you have any link with instructions, it would be appreciated. :)

I tried contacting Ubisoft support... Maybe they'll feel generous and fix it for me. ^_^

Daemon Tools Lite pretends to be a CD drive. Get a disk image, and load it up so you don't have to use a real CD. Besides, cracking the game to run no-CD is perfectly fine (morally speaking) if you actually own it.

Well that does not exist.
Crack it or buy it again in digital form, those are your only two options. One a legal gray area (since you aren't pirating the game and actually legally own it), the other just silly and wasteful.
For some older games creating an image of the DVD or CD and mounting that on the system also worked but newer games typically detect when that's happening and I'm pretty sure Driver - San Francisco is one of those.
Besides...Ubisoft themselves have stolen a crack from the scene in the past and released it as a patch for a game (Rainbow 6) that their own DRM had completely broken for legit customers.

not that easy :) first, DRM isn´t that stupid, it does recognize it´s not a legit disc. Second, you´d need to have some way to digitalize the disk. I for one couldn´t do that, as I don´t have a DVD rom (or similar).
Best guess (if you have proof you own a copy) is to ask the publisher for a digital copy, some publishers do that, given the right circumstances. If you feel bad about using a crack or not doesn´t matter at all, even if you bought the game, those are still illegal :)

Let put THIS in perspective:
Stupid post -> Looks for GAs, I never said there was any -> There are none, no shit genius -> disappointed of you -> Make a comment about -> You are here.

I admit this WAS kind of rude... Sorry.
Well, I did google it. But what you don't seem to understand is that I'm looking for a SAFE download of a patch or something... You must know that I never downloaded that kind of stuff, and ending up with a virus on my computer in not interesting. :)

Here's a better explanation:
Back in the day, the best option would to use a no-cd crack/patch. These are community made workarounds used mainly for pirated games. I do not know if the crack/patch itself is illegal or not. I have heard legitimate owners have used these as well (from pcgamer).
Now a days, you might be able to activate the cd key on a digital distribution service like steam, uplay, or origin, like what meirmeir said. I do not know how possible this is since I've only heard about this.
You can also rip the disc and store it as a virtual copy on your hard drive. And as ridhani1 has said, use a virtual optical drive emulator like daemons tools to "mount" the virtual copy onto a virtual drive. Ripping the disc might be hard since you'll likely have to overcome the drm protection. This also will take up a lot of space.
If you can't register the cd key onto a digital service, then I would recommend getting a no-cd crack. A good clean crack from a reliable source might be hard to find with just web searching though. No-cd patches from developers are extremely rare if existent at all.

"Back in the day"
you sure know how to make me feel old.
NO cds are generally illegal, but super practical. Back in the days travelling around with your CDs ( yeah DVDs didn't exist yet, and i remember the floppy disk days ) was an invitation to get your CDs damaged or lost, so a lot of people where using them both on legal and illegal games. Steam etc are changing that now. I am still crying on my damaged copies of master of orion, CIV2, and my lost shogun total war. And my stolen sim city.

This! Make an iso and then use a program like MagicISO or Daemon tools.

Hey SteamGifters,
A while ago I bought a physical copy of Driver: San Francisco. Now, I don't use those anymore, and would like to launch the game directly from my computer, without the disc.
Is that possible in any way?
(PS: I know I'll get a bunch of comments asking why I don't like using discs... Well it's just because I don't. ^_^)
Thanks.
