Bought two, got Jagged Alliance and STASIS. STASIS was wishlisted, so I'm happy enough though I wish I'd gotten observer like va3victis ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I already own on Steam the majority of games people are reporting getting.
This is a terrible bet.

I want to try but there's to many bad options to come. So better not.

Too much risk to get a duplicate form Steam, It wouldn't be a bad deal if GOG assure people won't receive anything they own already on Steam, after all they already know what you have on Steam thanks to GOG CONNECT.

Heh, feels like I just made this comment a few minutes ago as a reply to someone else. Obviously, I agree :)

Woops... I wasted my money on this.

I've got Slain: Back from hell.
Never heard of it before, not my type of game, too ugly, i'll never install it....

It's supposed to be a pretty decent game. Also, ugly? I get that it's subjective and all but although I don't generally appreciate pixel graphics this game has special feel to its aesthetics which kind of speaks to me

Looks great, but it's wonkier than it should be :\ a bossfight or two was a pain in the ass because of bad design, while others were gloriously well done (like the final boss). It's really a mixed bag, sadly.

I generally have low expectations of games so I'll keep it on my wishlist for now. I'd like to experience the beauty of the game since it's supposed to be even in "motion" so to speak :)

Bought one to support them, since I mostly leeched off GOG Connect lately.
Got Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened - Remastered. I didn't own it before, like P&C and have a soft spot for Sherlock Holmes, and although the game doesn't look that good, you can't go wrong with Cthulhu. Could be worse, I guess. :D

Technically it might be possible to buy some and refund the ones you don't want and keep going until you got the ones you wanted as long as you never downloaded the games.
Of course it would be against the spirit of the thing.
Personally I don't participate in these things since the pool consists of 99% things I would never buy.

I don't think so.
They do mention a theoretical case in their FAQ for someone that pretends a bunch of their games don't work and isn't willing to work with their support team and still demands refunds.

I was a bit unsure if I'd have bought a "GOG loot-box" or not, but in the end I got Legend of Kay: Anniversary

Since I rarely buy from GOG but I still got several games there thanks to Connect, I decided it was time to support them for real for once, and got three stars. Result? Lego Batman is ok, but Enemy Engaged: Comanche VS Hokum is a title I'd have never voluntarily bought, and Warrior Kings is of little interest to me too. Lesson learned: this was the first time I've ever supported something like this, and I doubt I'll ever do it again.

Well... yeah. If you really care about what you get for your money, better buy some games you actually would want to have :)

It's not a fraud either. Yeah, it's a shitty deal, but not a fraud.

What is "dishonest" about this? There are no lies or deception here. A scam would seem to have to involve either (a) lying about the cost, so it rings up at checkout as more than advertised or they reveal at the end that you have to like a page in order to get the deal, or (b) lying about the product, for example if there were a claim that "1 in 4 people get the Witcher 3!" when in fact no one does. You're just using language imprecisely and rationalizing it post hoc because you don't like the clearly stated terms of the deal.

$3 a spin is too expensive for me since there aren't many on that list that I really want and don't already have on steam.

I bought two, mainly since I hardly ever buy games from them and they have quite a few of my wishlisted games on the list. I'm kinda disappointed, but meh, I knew the risk going in and it does support the site. Not games that I would normally play, but I'll give them a shot one day. Maybe they might surprise me and I will enjoy them.

I tried my luck, these are what I got:

King's Bounty: Dark Side
Soma (wishlisted)
Tahira: Echoes of the Astral Empire (seems a game that I can enjoy)
BIT:TRIP BEAT
UnderRail (wishlisted)

plus I got Hard West (wishlisted) by spending 15$

overall, I'm happy with what I got.

Remember if you don't like the game you can get a refund as long as you have not already downloaded it 😎

I got refunds for some and got new stars and got games I was actually after.

Of course you can just get your money back (via PayPal etc...) or request the refund in GOG wallet credit

So there is actually no risk if you don't like the game 😀

That is really strange how much I spend every GOG sale, but nothing when Steam has something like that.
So far I have got:
