I know yall think those sites are gray markets resellers stolen cards etc, but i bought 5 games so far from G2a and kinguin and had none problems. I avoid buying from the community re-sellers tho, but never had a problem with any purchases so far.. And I think it's worth it as it's only 9 euro... Oh, also, yes, i bought the game.

Having no problems still doesn't mean it's not stolen, and shady grey markets are shady so I'd advise avoiding them. The extra security of validated sellers is worth the extra price to me.

yeah i know, im not saying that you all should use them r buy from them, but that its the lowest price so far and i took the risk, cause i doubt we'll see it at 9 euro any time soon..

($15, it includes all the DLCs, and fuck G2A/Kinguin)

Eh, it's ~15 euros for GOTY edition in the bundlestars bundle and 12.5 from gamesplanet which is an official dealer. G2A price with shield + VAT is 12.41, so there's absolutely no reason to risk it if I plan to buy it (unless 0.08 euros count as a good enough reason)

Fair enough, I guess. I'm trying to work on my backlog so SoM can wait for now. Surely enough it'll go even cheaper by the time I'd get around to playing it :p

There is nothing shady about those sites, they are marketplaces like Ebay. If someone buys keys using stolen card that's a problem, but there is a reputation based system like on Ebay.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Tell that to someone I know who had keys revoked later. Those sites are shady as hell. Why else try to upsell someone 'insurance' on a digital game purchase?? The very concept is ridiculous....... unless of course it's because you know there's enough reason that you can't guarantee the legitimacy of what is being sold in the first place. Comparing that to Ebay is apples and oranges.

Comment has been collapsed.

I don't see anything strange, they are just marketplace, so you can buy from the seller on your own risk or you can get insured.

It is the same on Ebay, what do you think PayPal fee is?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I haven't bought on Ebay in the past year or so but they always made it a point to bend over backwards for buyers. And I've never seen Ebay try to sell you 'insurance' on your purchase. Also, Ebay is no longer associated with PayPal, they are now separate companies, so if there is such a fee it wouldn't surprise me if PayPal charged one for their payment processing services just like they do with every other vendor.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Scammers will use sites like Ebay far more than G2A / Kinguing way more.
On aution houses you want buyers to pay as much as possible.
On seller sites, sellers aim to be as cheap as possible.

Where would you go as a scammer?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You are easily manipulated. Ebay sell you insurance on every purchase in Ebay fees, they may collect them from the sellers, but you pay them in the price of the purchased items and they also collect them in PayPal fees - even though the PayPal is now a company on its own, both PayPal and Ebay have same owners.

G2A has enough decency to tell you exactly what you are buying and you can decide if you want it.

Also there is way more scammers on Ebay as Rakly said.

g2a ... you can basically sign up in 5 min. provide whatever proof of purchase and start selling in 20 min. - much like kinguin
never bought a thing there but sold - and got my money > i'd rather figure where those mongrels get it so cheap :-D
(if you can't its usually a non row source that appearently is row - and only a few know)

Buy it from Bundlestars for a few bucks extra and get all the DLC. Once you factor in taxes and their charge for insurance, you are really only saving a dollar or two.

They're basically affiliated, as far as I know, to the point where they cross promote. I don't "trust" either, but occasionally, with the grace of PayPal, I take a calculated risk and figure dealing with PayPal isn't toooooo bad if I get ripped off. They also know your payment method, so if you use Paypal they're pretty likely to help you out.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I prefer Kinguing too.
Kinguing prices are what you pay.
G2A prices are without any costs.
On G2A an item listed at €10 will easily cost you €13 when you make the payment. And that's without the shield fee.

As far as I remember they had same owner (Company address).

Just buy form Bundlestars. You pay 6 euro extra, but at least you know for sure you're not breaking any laws. In my country we have a saying that approximately translated means "The thief that doesn't get caught is an honest merchant" I seriously disagree with this saying and I think only people devoid of conscience and morals can actually follow it.

You get all the DLC if you buy from Bundlestars, too. So in addition to the game itself, you get 18 pieces of DLC that retail for about US$54 if bought individually on Steam (not what the price would be in Euros, sorry). And, even better (in my opinion), you get to know that some of the money you spent actually goes to the developer (and publisher, but that's not as important to me), and makes it more likely that they will be able to make other great games in the future. If you want to buy the game and make sure your money gets into the paychecks of the people responsible for making and distributing the game, please buy the game from Bundlestars.

I bought shadow of mmordorfrom gg2aand some other games too. Always good keys. But i bought them from the sellers with more than 100k+ sales. There are some black sheeps. Too avoid buying non functional keys just don't always buy the cheapest ones.

Exactly, usually those running into problems are buying at the cheapest possible price from shady sellers.

I have had zero issues with g2a to date, by only buying from reputable sellers.

yeah, never again, at least not pre-orders from any of those sites, took me month and many emails with them and Ubisoft to get Watch_dogs out of them. They easy "forget" something when it was pre-ordered long time ago.

Yeah, I always get the buyer protection on preorders which means they'll directly refund you if the game isn't delivered in 48 hours. You miss out on preorder bonuses and sometimes the price isn't as good, but hey, better than struggling for months.

I would not use G2A if my balls where on fire,i had ants in my pants and a gi joe up my ass and the only way to get rid of it was to use that site,i would live in that hell before i would support that hell, just saying :)

So you sir screwed yourself by trying to save a buck and thanks for making me laugh and making my day how about a free face palm, you deserve one

5 bucks more and your cheap ass could of had all the dlc

@dafuqbro
I don't care if people use G2A or Kinguin, so don't take what I'm saying as insulting.
But do yourself a favor.
You need 3 base sites open.
isthereanydeal.com
G2A
Kinguing

And you'll get the best price most of the time.

Thanks to Tabs Outliner chrome plugin you can easily keep track of 30+ sites. if you want to expand from those 3 sites.
Oh, and use a password manager when you can't keep track any more.

BTW, didn't you win a gift from me, or I from you not to long ago? :p

Why must i be mad?

And yes i do not like the site and i will point it out, they are still free to use it,just as i am still free to be against it,never said they could not use it,just saying sometimes it does not always pay to be a cheap ass,and brag about a deal when with a little search you could had a better one.

Also i have never thought less of someone who does nor blacklisted them, but again i am going to share that i do not approve,if someone does not like that then i can not help that, two way street,if they have the right to use it,i should have the same right to show i do not like it.

And yes they did screw themselves trying to be a cheap ass and get a game from unauthorized seller, maybe a bit of karma, still i was just saying it does not always pay to be cheap sometimes cheap cost you more in the long run.

I still question where G2A gets keys from, they were selling a DLC for a game that wasn't out months in advance that ended up being free and no other site were selling keys for it because they didn't exist.

That rings alarm bells for me. Just get Shadows of Mordor from a trusted site, it's not that much more.

Depends, but when they are not stolen, they usually come from countries where physical copies of games cost nothing. They buy hundred of copies to a wholesaler that has no ethic and resells you the key included in the box.

Doesn't explain how they get Steam keys for DLC months before it's released for free dlc that isn't sold anywhere ;P

Most likely they were selling something kind of like a voucher, where after the dlc was released, they give you the download code.

I bought for example, shadow of mordor, the witcher 3, fifa 13, 14, 15..
But, G2A for me is a no.
