Hi guys.

Several of my giveaways ended and one of my winners has that precious "SR scammer" badge on his profile.

I tried to look into the SteamRep report, and I must admit I don't understand at all what happened. I eventually decided that, if SteamRep staff gave him the badge, it must mean he's one of the bad guys, but I'm not sure.

I had made a reroll request but I closed it because I wanted your opinions on what I should do.

If I reopen the reroll request, can it be granted on the basis of "winner is a scammer" ?

UPDATE : As suspected, support couldn't help since it did not happen on SteamGifts. Guess I have no choice but to give him his game now.

For a while I considered adding those who have been scammed, and convincing them to report him on SG (so that it comes into SG territory and possibly allows him to be suspended/banned, thus allowing me to reroll), but that's a lot of hassle.

Any ideas ? Or should I just give up ?

What do you think I should do ?

Investigate (explain how)

Hard to say, nobody likes a scammer that's for sure. I would try the re-roll and see what support says of it.

But on the other hand, maybe that person just wants to have every badge there is on Steam.

He won the game. It doesn't matter if he is a scammer or not, he is not banned on SG. But if you think you should "Karma is a bitch" that guy I support you.

Agree with this one. Try also to feed this tool his IDs to get if he's got any non-activated gifts. If he does you can report him and ask a reroll. If not, I guess you have no reason not to give him the game.

edit: sorry, it appears I'm too late with that tool suggestion.

I don't know. All his games have been activated, it seems. There are claims of SG users who said they have been scammed (3 in total) but he is not banned for some reason.

Yes, I do mind, but I've never had a case like this (where I would consider willingly accepting a "not received" feedback)

Interesting question.

My initial reaction was no, because it's not SG related.

If you get banned or suspended from the trade section here does that also apply to the gifting section? If so, and if he hasn't served his time yet for whatever he did over the trades part (because lets face it, user never reprt tickets never get answered) then maybe it would be grounds for asking for a reroll after all. I dunno.

It would be a very strange way of structuring the site if a ban/suspension from one part did equal a ban from the other yet transgressions on the trade part meant you couldn't ask for a reroll here.

A bit off-topic question: What is "SR scammer" badge and ow does it look like?

It looks like this and I assume you need Enhanced Steam in order for it to be displayed.

It will show above the badges, on profile of people who have confirmed scam reports on SteamRep.

Thank you guys, I've decided to ask for a reroll again (and pointed support at the fact that the user wasn't permabanned while he is a scammer), we'll see what they decide. Otherwise I'll just send the game and then blacklist that user.

From my personal experience they don't care that much about it unfortunately. They enforce the rules of Steamgifts, meaning that everything outside of it doesn't count. Had some cases that deserved a reroll, even after I asked some friends about it but I couldn't get one.
Good luck tho and keep us updated!
Sorry for the necro

I'd really advise not to do that.

I will be closing the thread because if you do decide to deliver the game, then this will be pointing to the winner and calling them out (I prefer not to mark or suspend people when it can be avoided). Plus, you got this question answered in your ticket. If you don't want to deliver the game, you are free to do that.
