Considering how long they've lasted thus far, and that some stuff is starting to pick up for them this year-end (at least, as I see it), I think they'll last for a while to come

I think they may give up on making consoles sometime in the future, but not the games

"Will Nintendo become the next Sega, or will they reemerge out of the rubble as the titan they were in the 90's ?"
God no.
Nintendo is still doing good aside from the Wii U. They still have a shitload of cash, not only that but Nintendo can afford to let the Wii U die (if it does, but it's still early to tell.)
Sega couldn't because unlike Nintendo they didn't have another system to rely on.
Nintendo is going to be fine.

Just remember, Nintendo does more than make video games and consoles. They own: the Seattle Mariners, The D-Pad, "It's on like Donkey Kong." And seem to always head the video game industry, notice how once they came out with the Wii, the competitors came out with their own adaptions.

People is exagerating. nintendo still has much potential. They still make great portable consoles plus despite what people say, Wii had loads of great games people don't ever know. I'm sure Wii U won't be that bad and will have great titles too.

In the last years they tried to fill all the market holes they could, pushing on general public's appeal and low prices.
On the game side they've been recycling the same few games over and over, strong of the fact that this new audience never really experienced them in the first place.
My personal wish is that they would bring cross-platform to their strongest titles so that good 3DS titles give a hand to Wii U and focus a bit more on new games and mechanics, rather than giving Mario a cat hat.
They'll be around for a long time: Nintendo has a large fan base and they're not shy on price cuts.

Considering their latest product is the Nintendo 2DS I would say that they're starting to run out of ideas...But considering they brought us Zelda, Mario, Metroid and many other absolute gaming classics I would say that when they do go out of business and it will be a sad day for us all and they won't be forgotten for a very long time.

The 2ds is intended for children seven and under. They are appealing it to a younger age group, and are releasing it on the same day as Pokemon X and Y for the kids who want it.

After the Wii I promised myself I would never buy another Nintendo console or handheld until they stop with the gimmicks. Nintendo are a joke now, they keep rehashing cheap consoles and games. Good riddance to them when the day hopefully comes.

Well they will get their beating stick out again and proceed to the moist red spot on the ground where the dead horse used to be.

Hello. I was wanting to ask you all about what you think the future holds in for Nintendo. I grew up on Nintendo consoles my whole life. I still love Donkey Kong Country above all other games (Can't wait for Tropical Freeze to come out). I think Nintendo will survive for many years to come. What do you think? Will Nintendo become the next Sega, or will they reemerge out of the rubble as the titan they were in the 90's
?
