You should report him on steamrep and just move on, be more careful next time, specially when trading keys. I never trust reps on steam profiles.

1. Ignore steam profile reputation. It's worthless/meaningless. Use steamtrades rep instead.
2. If someone has a lower rep than you, make that person go first with their key. This is standard. If you have 1 rep on Steamtrades and 0 rep on your Steam profile and the other person has 0 rep on Steamtrades and +200 rep on his/her Steam profile, you have higher rep.

For reps, follow steamtrades reps. Steam reps could be just made by his friends or himself (fake reps). report him to steamreps with all the proof you can provide, such as the chat you guys had.

I don't understand scammers... they won't pirate the game they don't pay for anyway, so instead of taking it for free from a rich company (not that it's ok to do that ofc), they steal it straight out of someones wallet without problems, in person no less.

First of all where do you buy the game key? If it's a site like Amazon, GamersGate, Greenmangaming etc. they may revoke the key and let you use it again.

I don't understand how can people be scammed. I mean both people have to agree to complete a trade, and by that I mean check the little box saying "ready to trade" and then click on the gigantic button "Make trade"
