Thanks, you sure dishonored and Deus Ex: HR will work smoothly in my toaster

If you can run Far Cry 3, you should be able to run Dishonored. They came out at close to the same time, and should have roughly the same requirements. It's also a fantastic game.
Deus Ex: HR came out the previous year, so again you should be able to run it if you can run Far Cry 3.
I would also recommend Saints Row 3 & 4, if you haven't played them already. And Sleeping Dogs. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Call of Juarez: Gunslinger - great FPS, and should run like a dream. Batman Arkham Asylum / City.

Like Timobkg has said, if you could run FC3, you should easily be able to run Dishonored and DE:HR as well :) I was suggesting games based on my own toaster which could run similar games to yours. I've played all of the gamea I've suggested and they've worked great for me. Additionally all of said games were a real joy to play for me, so if you like different genrea, you have plenty of quality games to choose from :)

From the stuff in your Library:
You have Psychonauts and haven't played it so I'd definitely recommend that one.
People tend to praise Amnesia: The Dark Descent and I'm pretty sure it has low requirements.
Similarly Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons though I personally wouldn't recommend that one since it's cripplingly depressing.
One Finger Death Punch is great and it's one of those "games you can play basically for as long as you like" since it's practically endless. :D
From stuff that you don't have:
Half-Life 2 and its episodes are great games and can probably run on a toaster.
Same for Portal 1 and 2.
Terraria is also a very good game and if you end up liking it could cut quite a while of that 10 month wait. XD
Similarly FTL: Faster Than Light.
There's a laaaaarge variety of games that don't require a crazy computer. Maybe narrow it down a bit by saying what genres you're looking for in particular? ^_^'

Ok, taking that into consideration here's some more recommendations:
I still recommend Terraria. It's probably not quite what you mean by action-adventure but it is technically a big adventure in an open world with action in it. ;D
Psychonauts is also still a really good choice.
According to the requirements listed on its Store Page Borderlands should run fine on your computer and I highly recommend it. It's an Open World First Person Shooter RPG. :)
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is also a very good game.
I can't think of any other open world games with low specs right now but when you get your new computer I'd highly recommend taking a look at Saints Row: The Third, Just Cause 2 and Red Faction: Guerrilla for a lot of open world chaos goodness. :D

Its different. its also really bad on many setups it seems. im managing to play it (after much frustration, tweaks and trial and error) on an intel hd 5500 at 1280x600 res. as the game goes on, it lags more and more. i suggest one of two things - bargain bin "i dont care" price or "i can refund this still" price.

I had already made this kind of thread before but it was for multiplayer games.
I'ma upgrade my tower in like 10 months. Before that, I would like to play the good games which can run on my PC at medium/high resolution smoothly.
Few of my PC specs:-
2.5 gHZ
3 GB RAM
Some AMD 512 Mb Graphics card
Could run stuff like FC3, DMC, COD MW4 with no or very less lag at medium settings. But I'm looking for games games with even lower requirements so that they'll work smooth in high-medium resolution.
Could you please suggest me some classic single player games which I haven't played yet? I have always loved Action-Adventure-Open World kind of games! Feel free to suggest me any genre!
