I think you're slightly confused, so look at it like this; if you roll a d6 once, you have a one in six chance of rolling a three (which we will say is the losing state). When you roll the dice twice, you have a one in 36 chance of getting a three, or losing, both times, but on your second roll you still have a ine in six chance of losing.

This is incorrect. When there is no removal of values (i.e.: the number you got before remains a valid choice, which is the case, unlike, say, drawing numbers from a hat), your chance of getting a 3 (or any number) in EVERY diceroll is the SAME (1/6). This doesn't change. Even if you get 50 non-3s in a row, next time you roll the dice your chance of getting a 3 is STILL 1/6.
That said, one could say that there is a high probability of getting one 3 in 6 dice rolls. While this is a bit of a statistical fallacy (as it presupposes a statistically perfect distribution, which goes against the very essence of statistics), there is a good chance of getting 1 specific 1/6 result, out of 6 throws.
So, in other words, while the more you play, the highest your statistical chance of winning, the matter of fact is that your chance to win any giveaway is the exact same every single time: 1 / however many entries there are for it.
