Probably the problem starts at that there are zillions of gaming-related amateur YouTube channels. Even if you find yourself a focus on what you want to do with it, actually getting people to watch it can be down to random luck.

Exactly. A lot of youtube channels are like "check my gambling video", "watch my amazing trickshots on cod", "my new csgo skins", "look at my new minecraft server", "I was caught by my mom", "mlg gmod", etc. And so, I'm like "who the heck gives a duck about that?". xD These things were boring in the past and they're still boring, plus there is an infinite number of channels that they have posted the exact same thing.
