The Monkey Island ones are classics. They were one of my first purchases.

Yeah brought the whole set since I had the telltale version. Most games up there are sequels. Any that are standalone are simply because I had some spare pennies and went looking for those sweet cheap games
Huh actually i knew I brought 4 monkey island games. I swear I made sure I put down everything. Pretty sure im just missing 1 as it was at the very bottom before I hit the 23rd

I watched it before so I knew I liked it. I played like 70minutes of its remake which I didn't enjoy as much but I did go in expecting its old version so I didn't give it a real chance. Mad father is basically 2 games in 1 because of how different its 2 versions are

As I havent really gotten back into gaming until the pandemic and didnt have much to spend in recent sales, I ended up spending a lot.

Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove
Cuphead
Everhood
Spyro Reignited Trilogy
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun
Noita
Deep Rock Galactic
Monster Prom
A Plague Tale: Innocence
Environmental Station Alpha
Ghostrunner
Phoenotopia Awakening
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
BIT.TRIP RUNNER
Antichamber
A Hat in Time
Fearmonium
The Stanley Parable
Papers, Please
And a few really niche indie games as well.

Backlog continues to suffer. 😔

It takes a particular personality to enjoy Papers Please. I can see why some rave over it, and why most don't like it.

Essentially, you're doing the same thing over and over again - reviewing people's entry permits. As the game progresses, you search for more and more details, and the story slowly unfolds, but, essentially, from beginning to end, you're playing "spot the difference"

I kind of like games like that, but they have to be kind of short. You're right. When it gets too repetitive, I just drop the game.

I played some of the originals when I was younger. I got more into it with MM9 on the Wii when I was still in high school. They are definitely a bit less difficult as an adult, but still offer a challenge

i dont have vr, but i read that layers in fear Is great in vr, basically the game Is a first person View, and that helps a lot.
another one that I read its great on vr Is hellblade senuas sacrifice, the base game Is 3rd person view the most part.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Hellblade is actually one of my all-time favourite games, so I'm definitely going to play it in VR. One of the cool things about its developers is that the VR version is free for all the owners of the base version, so I've already got it.

Did you already finish some huge open world game in VR, like Skyrim? I don't think that I'd manage to last that long. :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Nope, not yet. And, frankly, I do share your doubt and perceive this as a kind of experiment; VR seems like a thing for relatively short games, but I'm willing to try.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I think it depends on the player and of course the settings. If you have good "VR legs" and aren't prone to motion sickness I think it would work. One trick to avoiding sweating up your HMD's insert is to use a small fan on your desk to help avoid you losing track of real world directions. Aside from keeping you cool, the fan (and an appropriately-sized VR mat can keep you from getting tangled in your cord or from punching your display.

The idea is to have gentle reminders of your boundaries without breaking immersion. The fan has a bonus of keeping you cool.

Permalink

Thank you! For now I don't need a fan because I use air conditioner anyway, but it's a really good idea for later.

Horizon Zero Dawn

Yes, i went really overboard for once (some stuff was cheaper due steam bundles though), and i couldn't give a beep about it due recent affairs.
AND Final Fantasy 1-6 albeit i bought it because it was some sort of tradition a friend would get me Final Fantasy games, but i never thought he would be crazy enough to do those for 75 euro so i already bought it, but because region restrictions he wanted to transfer me the money trhrough paypal and we still would (which is really welcoming after an unexpected 200 euro own risk bill after i got most of the games)(...

Most is either retro or adventure/rpg.

Horizon Zero isn't bad either. ;) To get atleast, not sure about the game itself yet, i was on the fence myself, one negative review stood out on how much you walk in the game, but also i told him wait for the humble choice first, because you never know.

Yeah it's a guy with not even a superb job or something, but he feels like because he did some bad stuff in life he wants to build up his karma. I already said compared to what he did he already made up for that, but told him with both should save money for a rainy day, but i gift him things too although never as deep as the whole FF thing (i can't really afford it).
But i never even met the guy and when you got friends who you know in real life that give you a lot less (and it's not about that) but still find it remarkable that a "stranger" but a friend, does that for someone, It's a shame we live so far apart.

I think the furthest Square will go is 50%, and maybe not even on the steam bundle.

I will get back to you somewhere this week about Tick Tock. ;)
