In the spirit of giving, I wanted to do a giveaway. It's been a while for me. The giveaway is for Rogue Legacy. However, I am not simply letting you in. If you want a Christmas gift, then you'll need to know something about Christmas. The quiz and giveaway ends on Christmas at 12 AM PST.

Merry Christmas

Edit: It seems that even with the provided hints, some people cannot answer the questions. I'll provide extra hints to make it easier. After that, it is up to you.

Question 1) It is a food. Some recipes include alcohol that can preserve it for years.
Question 2) Think of the name of this thread. It is similar to the answer.
Question 3) It is another name for the story of the first Christmas.
Question 4) The holiday you want is Halloween.
Question 5) This person is important for Christmas.

Question 6) Many people like to call it the world's oldest profession.
Question 7) People say that they hear the answer when Santa flies by.
Question 8) The store mentioned in the movie is Macy's.
Question 9) The person the poem is about is the title.
Question 10) The hint in the quiz tells you exactly what to do. Do as it says.

You would have to be as nutty as it is to try to keep this.

Answered the first 3 questions, but decided I'll wait for hints for the rest. I mostly lost will to solve them after seeing the tenth question, which should be impossible to solve since nobody knows the actual date.

Most of the questions refuse to accept the correct answer.

Question 3 - No idea. I tried several variations of the obvious answer without success.
Question 6 - No idea. Also tried a few of the prominent ones without success.
Question 9 - Please take the title from Wikipedia. Don't use the abbreviated name.

I'm stuck on Q3 and Q9. Obvious answers in multiple variations do not work.

As for Q6 - Have you seen the hint on puzzle page? It is really helpful.

Q6 I don't know how the hint could be helpful. I already tried the all jobs on Wikipedia.
Q9 uses abbreviated version of the name (title is already abbreviated).

Question 6 - Try thinking of only one word of the clue. It is slang of the correct answer.
Question 9 - I used eight versions of the answer including some that use the full version of the name and even the one from Wikipedia . I will add four more that do not use the period. If you still cannot solve that one, you are on the wrong track.

I already solved question 9 - just to inform you to add the full name from Wikipedia.

(In Italy we do wait for Santa, tho, it was many years ago that children waited for LA befana, nowadays santa brings presents on the 25th of December and la befana brings sweets on the 6th of january*

Edit: Removing references to which question I was overthinking to keep it more vague.

I guess I'll wait for the hint on that one. Very good quiz, though. Most of these required a little more digging... and even an alternate spelling! :)

Can't find the answer to Q9... Why is the answer wrong which I get when I enter the mentioned part of the first line into the google search (I set it to english language)?

I'm stuck on the last question... This has to be some kind of trick question, right? I've tried a number of dates, from the traditional to the guesses made by various historians an theologians. And I've tried a few sneaky answers like "not christmas".

Does the answer require a year, as well? Is it flexible on the date format? So far my answers have been in terms of "full-month-name date-number", but it could be MM/DD/YY, DD/MM/YY, MM/DD/YYYY, etc. etc. etc.

Read the hint on that question, it answers it for you.

Copy the URL and paste it into a new window. There's a hint that should show up and tell you, but on Chrome (at least on my system and apparently yours) it doesn't reveal itself unless you reload the page. Your answers should be preserved on a reload, but just to be safe, I recommend opening a new page, which should automatically load all your past answers and show the hint.

Thanks for the tip, the hints weren't showing up. I figured there weren't any because we got hints here in the thread, too.

Also, bump for solved!

Bump for solved! Most of the questions were relatively easy, but I would never solve question #8 without the hint in this thread. Question #6 also gave me a lot of trouble and took so long to solve even after all the hints (that profession has so many synonyms and slang words that it was hard to find the one you set up as the answer).
