apologize in advance for bad eng
some kind test giveaway
where the winners will be chosen randomly among the TOP-10 places by time "Leaderboard" jigidi
I will find out the winner through the site - https://wheelofnames.com/ - the layout is such that participants will be eliminated until there is 1 winner
i.e. on the site there is an indicator "Weight", for example the one who took the 10th place, he will get the value of the indicator 10. So he will increase the chance that the arrow will stop on him and he will be out of the draw (i hope its understandable x_x)
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. You need to prove how exactly you collected the puzzle and uploaded it for example on Youtube!!! (because of cheaters)
The reward will be one any games in steam of your choice (with restrictions, at my discretion)
Update. For TOP-1 will be reward too. same as up there. (with restrictions, at my discretion)
https://www.jigidi.com/jigsaw-puzzle/nylmgj0z/cat-on-a-fence/
the end will be around 20 june friday, and the participants of the top 10 will have only 1 day to write in the comments Jigidi link to the video (or by adding to friends in advance warning me)
i look forward to questions, suggestions and criticism
maybe the idea is really dumb and then i will close this test in advance.
for top-10: You need to think its like ordinary steamgifts giveaway with 10 people participate !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sooooo don't try too hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Update. in case of suspicion of cheating, i reserve the right to refuse to participate in the giveaway without further explanation.
Update. Don't provide videos in advance, thereby helping others in the process, you enter to win for yourself, not for someone else.

Only as a info.

Jigidis can be cheated in different ways.
One of them is stoping the time, so the fastest results are in 99,99% of the cases the cheaters.

As Masafor said, cheaters stop the timers ... so in the case of top 10, even if you weed out the clear cheaters, some will be smart, wait until the last day of the event, make the timer go for a certain length (enough to put them in contention for the prize) and then cheat.

I like your idea but I pass. I am not making videos.
This is no complaint but I just want to make you aware that I might not be the only person passing.

I hope you can realise your idea somehow...

PS I don't even log into Jigidis when solving them.

Some feedback: Your generosity is appreciated but this is limiting the winners to those who have one particular skill (solving jigidis fast). This is basically locking out anyone who takes their time AND also anyone with other talents but not this one.

Solution: The best competitions are the ones enjoyed by the most number of people, so making it inclusive of as many users with different skills as possible is the trick here.

Basically wanted to say same thing

Allowing those who complete the puzzle itself is inclusive.

Limiting it to lucky person who is really good at Jigidi's or spent lots of time doing it again and again, + was lucky enough to have a randomizer pick them? Not inclusive.

Those type of giveaways do happen on forums, sure, but it becomes a stretch to call it a puzzle. Idea might need a bit of work

Exactly this.
More power to OP for sticking with their chosen form of competition.
They did ask for feedback and my reply is in that spirit.

I totally agree that I prefer more generally available competitions, but to be fair, there are some brutally hard riddles and such. As well as many that are English-speaking specific and require specific deep language understanding. To me this just seems like a more dexterity specific hard task, and one that is not language specific, so might be more available to a more international crowd.

I love the wide variety people find to make giveaways. This one might share with some who felt excluded from the deep puzzles.

I more or less agree with all of that.
The reason I'm providing feedback is this bit mentioned in the topic:
"i look forward to questions, suggestions and criticism"

Otherwise, I'd treat this like other contests/puzzles which I skip.

As well as many that are English-speaking specific and require specific deep language understanding.

And even a lot more that require coding/programming knowledge or maths, which I suck at xD

But this also restricts people with disabilities from entering, which is not really cool. And I don't even mean severe disabilities. My gf loves real life puzzles but she gets frustrated by Jigidi because her mouse hand movements are limited due to a wrist injury. When she does Jigi, she's slow and it annoys her.

Like I said however, OP is under no obligation to include anyone in their competition... they could technically say only people with freckles in the shape of a starburst can enter the competition and it still would be their puzzle, their choice.

I'm certainly not going to be one of the 10 fastest, as a matter of fact I'm not even going to try, but I find the idea legit and OK, same like GAs restricted to a Steam group for example.

Well the OP is certainly not under any obligation to make their puzzle inclusive.
I won't participate though. I enjoy puzzling and taking my time. I don't plan on turning off the fun for a chance to possibly get in the top 10 for a chance to possibly win something out of it.

Thank you for the puzzle!
I don’t really know much about cheats or anything, but if the goal you've set as the host is to "clear it as fast as possible," then I’ll just give it my all!
[sakaki: 16:06]
Hmm... Despite making such a bold statement, my time ended up being kinda lame... (lol)
The cat was super cute!
[edit]
Oh, I see I need to record it. I have no idea how to record though (lol).
I’ve never really paid attention to clear times on Jigidi before, so it was a bit of a new experience!

Unfortunately, you need to be logged in to save the score. It was my mistake.

Firstly, what's the prize?

Secondly, how do we know that you aren't cheating on selecting the winner, do you make a video of that too?

Lastly, what do you hope to do with all the data collected on videos being uploaded to YouTube?

да хоть где, главное чтобы его можно было смотреть без танцев с бубном (ютюб, вк)
до субботы далеко, время можешь подтянуть получше, если народ будет, а если нет, то закидывай заранее раз уверен.

Well i'm in the top 10 for now, but my failing mouse lost me a few minutes...

Will be interesting to see how many people use autosolvers and have completion times of under 5 minutes.

Not sure how to upload a video of me completing it, as i already completed it :p
In the past i only had to take a screenshot... I'm unlikely to end up in the top 10 anyway, so i guess it doesnt matter much.

I wanted to see how it goes, especially that jigidis aren't so popular anymore on the site. Looks like I still have the knack for it :)

You're always so fast! I'd love to see your video if you don't mind posting it here. My technique is more laid back so I'm not even going to try but I'm curious to see how you work it.

If I figure out how to upload it then why not. I treated it more as a jigidi exercise and a learning opportunity for using some recording software. I didn't even plan to submit it

I wonder whether I could find the post I once wrote about the solving technique, as few people already asked me about it before

I'll go look for your post, then. Don't trouble yourself looking.
I guess you have to submit it now since you are not likely to get beat ;)

Nah, we have a few emerging champions. In many recent Jigidis I ended up like 3rd or 4th(not counting bots) when people weren't even going for the leaderboard, so I don't really expect to stay in the leaderboard in a competition. After solving I would estimate that results in the 8:30-9:00 minute range are quite plausible

I must say I see a flow in the form of this puzzle. Putting aside the comments above about the target audience you're unlikely to get 10 participants. I would guess at least half of the leaderboards will be bots. Or if somebody decides to troll you'll end up with a leaderboard of 1s "solvers"

Yeah I was thinking that someone might just blow the puzzle with purposeful cheating. I never really made a Jigi so I don't know if you can see more than the Top10 but you probably can't.

Another concern with this form of contest is that once you get a full leaderboard, it might discourage people from even attempting it, thinking they can't really beat the times that are on display.

the most important thing is to have a video
based on this will be compiled into a top 10
so there will be few people. maybe only 2 or 3. (nobody wants to bother with the videorecorder)
fine by me. coz its only a test
the difficulty is so because the reward is high
no ones forcing you to participate here
there plenty other giveaways from great people

Oh, if you're going to manually compile the leaderboard than sure it might work, but in such case it would probably be a good idea to reserve a comment and ask for submissions with time there or something similar.
Don't get me wrong, ti's a nice initiative. I was just trying to point out that it will be really hard to handle it manually and trolls might easily get on your nerves here as plenty of things can go wrong

ur a 100% right about all
but thats the way its gonna have to be
at some random time in june 20
ill leave a comment where ill sort and ask people to provide links to the videos (here or in steam)
(you dont have to provide video in advance thereby helping others in the process coz its somehow competition goes here)
as youll see there will be only 2 or 3 people to participate.
maybe here will be only the contest of those who have read my jibberish and were not bothered to record a video idk :D
and ofc I realize why coz not many people want to participate in an unnecessary game with too high entry threshold
ideally for me just 10 participants would be great with all proof
1st reward - TOP1
2st reward - Random top10
