I'm searching for a REAL source of roleplay BUT I want it to be a game.
Forum RP are not for me.

I'm talking about stuff like GTA SA:MP when you have to act like gangster etc.
I'd really love some old, but popular games.

I was searching for Tibia RP server, but didn't find.

The only game of that type I have is Garry's Mod on steam.
People really play their roles but game is short. My longest character was 1,5 hours, got killed, then you have to play over and over again.

So, any suggestions? I really love Tibia last days because it's game from my childhood.

You can roleplay in any mmorpg. You just have to say that you an elf, orc, jedi or whatever. :)

Yeah, plus some games are just terrible sources for roleplaying, at least when it comes to any form of action. It's rare that a game makes it easy to perform tasks while typing, and reliable clear-quality voice chat is hard to find.

For instance, Champions Online and City of Heroes/Villains would seem like a perfect place to roleplay the entire superpowers deal, but any form of action is always taken quickly and immediately, whereas typing or talking requires delay. The flow gets screwed up pretty hardcore. Few games really have a system that truly friendly to a more storytelling experience.

Speaking of which, I should consider looking back into the Shadowrun game. Perhaps I could drag some friends into it, if I bought it for myself~

That's why I prefer games like Tibia.
They're not THAT dynamic.

You can find some roleplaying guild/clan/corporation. Every MMOG has them. You can even start one.

Was about to say the same. Every MMO out there has some RP guilds. Some MMos offer more RP play than others. One you (OP) might want to look at is Lord of the Rings online. It's a classic themepark MMORPG with a very good main storyline and tons of options to actually role-play. There are even a couple of dedicated RP servers as well.

Just wait until the winter sales come up. If you do end up wanting to try CL, you'll need both Arma 2 and Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead. Used to have a lot of fun there, but just kinda got tired of playing it. I was spending a LOT of time there. Played all three sides of the coin (except EMT's), law abiding citizen, cartel/drug growing operations, and as an Officer.

All sides have their ups and downs, but I probably liked being a cop the best part, although it was a lot like having a job instead of an actual "game", although, I guess that's what happens when you join something that's about role playing.

People roleplay in Star Trek Online so I guess you could technically roleplay in any MMO. I will laugh at you though.

Wow, you mentioned Tibia. Good times, but the game's changed a lot since the 2001 graphics engine update. It no longer feels like Tibia to me. For roleplaying in Tibia, you'll find a few guilds that cater to this. At least, there were some still around at the time I last played less than a year ago.

Ultima Online still has roleplayers.

There are hardcore roleplaying games on BYOND that have a retro feel due to the games running on a 2D engine. Go check it out. If you need assistance or have questions about Byond that need answering, feel free to ask.
