i have a 1 tb hard drive and its full, game are about 4-8 gb each so good luck with your 2 gb card (you need one to implant the hack to read the game that is on the hard drive )

for the installation, it depends which method of installation you do to install homebrew. Sometimes you will need to format the sd card, sometimes you just need specific files in specific locations the wii reads (and thus having other files on it will not hurt it). I apologize in advance if my knowledge is not up to date, this was correct for years but it might not be anymore. :) Good luck, homebrew is the only way to play Wii sometimes.

When I did it, everywhere says the SD card has to be empty.
